Thank you everyone for a incredible day yesterday at the 21st running of the Squaw Peak 50! Inspite of the tough conditions we had a 93% finish rate with 275 finishing out of 297 starters. WOW Congrats to all of you!

Squaw Peak Pre runs! And yes we have some fun when doing these!

Race day is almost here ... Yikes! but 1st...

Anyone is welcome to join us, even if your not registered

- For those of you who live here in the area, we will be doing a couple of runs before the race.
- Also a clean up afternoon at the parking area we use
- Both of these trails runs and clean up can also be possibly used for trail/service time depending on the race you need it for.

- On May 13th - Mile 2.2 to about Mile 8 and back. This is where the
Bonneville Shoreline Trail leaves the Provo River Trail right after Bridal Veil Falls
and is the first big climb of the Race up through Hope campground and over to
Rock Canyon. We will meet at 6:45 AM and leave at about 7:00 when you turn off of Provo Canyon Highway to go to Nunns Park and Bridal Veil Falls. This is on your right about 4 miles up from the mouth of the canyon. After you make the turn off go down where the road is closed go under the bridge to your left as you come up the little hill park at the 1st parking lot to your right. You can park in the stall or on the dirt behind the trees( that's where I will be in Tan Toyota Pick Up. Duration: About 3-4+ hours roundtrip as we will be marking and clearing trail where needed. please rsvp

- Also On May 13th Sat afternoon from 12 to 2 after the morning training run I need about 5 to 10 people to help clean up At the Parking at Provo Canyon Outfitters! 3392 E Provo Canyon Rd, Provo, UT 84604-9661 please rsvp

- On May 27th - Mile 33 (Aid Station 8) to Mile 46.5 (aid station 10) --- The
BACK COUNTRY PART OF THE COURSE I will meet you at Big Springs Park at 6 AM This is where AID Station 10 is on Race day it is 3.5 miles up South Fork Provo Canyon Road past the start at Vivian Parkhttp://www.utahlepsociety.org/directions_big_springs_hollow.pdf and leave at 6:30 AM to drive up to Little Valley. The drive takes about 35 minutes depending on road conditions. We will be
taking this run/hike/walk slow! There will be snow, maybe as much as 1/2 of
this run. You will need at least 2 water bottles and food to bring with you. We
will be marking and clearing trail of dead fall (not snow) where needed. and
once at Windy Pass maybe having to dig down to the spring if it is still
buried in snow, so that you can all have water on race day. Duration: About 7
- 8 hours please rsvp

We also need someone to drive us up to the drop off point, on the 28th This will need to
be a 4 wheel drive large passenger vehicle or 2 depending how many runners
show up. It would help if you have been up there before and are familiar with
the area. But not mandatory. Please call me or email if you or another can
drive us up and drop us off, I will get you some gas money

Squaw Peak 50 Mile Trail Run - 6/3/17

OK AS I thought, Utah County will open up the trail for us to use on race day. If your still thinking about doing the race or have friends who haven't decided there are only about 45 spots left.

Hi Runners,

Some of you have contacted me about the closure of the Provo River Trail .
By the time i found out yesterday. Friday April 14th and made a phone call the person i needed to talk too at the county that has helped us out the last 20 years had already gone home. But I'm sure they will give us a exception especially with the time of the day we go through and everyone will be off the trail by 5:30. Also heard that the Provo River half marathon has been given an exception so it shouldn't be a problem. I just have to talk to them on Monday and find out exactly what the details are.
