Capabilities include machining, welding, CAD engineering, 3D printing and much more. It exists on the campus of Brigham Young University to provide prototyping, design, fabrication, repair, machining and welding services to all departments within the BYU sphere. Our Story
The Prototype Manufacturing Laboratory is a prototyping shop. They do machining, welding, CAD engineering, 3D printing and much more. It exists on the campus of Brigham Young University to provide prototyping, design, fabrication, repair, machining and welding services to all departments within the BYU sphere. It is operated similar to the BYU Bookstore, Print Services and Physical Facilities in that it generates income to cover its expenses. The facilities are equipped with advanced equipment and qualified personnel for the purpose of providing up-to-date services. The existence of this facility gives BYU both technological and financial advantage over many other universities. The PML operates with minimal cost to BYU departments and is directly influential to the success of BYU's nationally renowned research.
