WE NEED MORE TAPE !!!

It’s been a while since I put out a plea for tape….thanks to your amazing response before 🥰… but now we are needing it again!

We have tried different tapes and this seems to be the one that is easiest and strongest to work with. And if you’ve never seen what one of the boxes look like when we get it back ( even though we have a neon sticker that says “do not return… give to another soldier” 😡) you would understand why we tape the boxes the way we do with the strongest tape we can get!😂😂😂 If that box gets dropped we don’t want it to bust! We want it to get into the hands of the intended recipient with everything staying inside, intact.🥰

So… back to my plea, if each person who sees this tape while you are out and about shopping ,would pick up just one for us, we would have more than enough to do our boxes each month. ❤️
The tape can be dropped off at Butler Homes office... 205 S Adair Street in Pryor, or Gibbs Plumbing , 202 N Adair, Pryor.

Attention Veterans/ Spouses!!!

I just got a call from Mike Walters at the DAV Chapter 43 in Pryor, Oklahoma. They are setting up at the Mayes County Fairgrounds, in the DAV office, a disaster relief for Veterans and their spouses who were affected by the tornadoes over the weekend.
If a Veteran or their spouse could come in today, a National Service Officer will be there, to see if they qualify for some financial relief.

What a great evening and what a great turnout!!😊

We taped up, and loaded, 2 SUVS with 93 cases of Girl Scout cookies that are going to be on their way in the morning, to our deployed men and women. Thin Mints, TreFoils,Adventurefuls, LemonUps, Samoas, Tagalongs and more!

We so appreciate the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma donating these cookies for our Troops. 🥰

Thank you to everyone who came out this evening to help get these ready to mail for our Troops!

If we can’t bring them all home, we’ll send a piece of home to them. ❤️🍪 ❤️And what better than Girl Scout Cookies!

Great group tonight!
20 moms, dads, grandparents, students and Thunderbird boys came out to help pack 86 boxes for our deployed Troops. One family who came tonight packed a “special box” for their Husband/ dad who is currently deployed . ❤️🇺🇸❤️

It takes a Village to Support Our Troops. 🥰
Thank you to everyone who faithfully comes each month and those who donate so that we can let our men and women know they are not forgotten and how proud we are of the sacrifices they make for the freedoms we enjoy.

Wow! What a day!
But between 3 of us, me, Becky and Vicki, and us heading to 2 different towns, we almost have everything we need for our next box we’re sending to our Troops this month.
🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
We ( Becky and I ) had 5 baskets overflowing…. funny the comments we get. 🙂but I guess most people don’t load 510 foil packages of an assortment of Tuna, 85 boxes of Saltines, 85 jars of peanut butter, etc..every day in their shopping cart 🤷‍♀️
Our basket that we had loaded with saltine crackers, a gentleman pulled up next to our basket , and said” I need one of those”, reached in , and got one of the boxes of crackers! Becky and I looked at each other and smiled, because that was a first!😂 we told him that was OK, as there were no more on the shelf, as we got them all. He stopped, looked at us, and said, I thought you were restocking! And attempted to hand it back to us. We told him no ,keep it, because there really were no more on the shelf, and we could pick one up someplace else. 🙂 He then proceeded to ask us what we were buying all the crackers for, and of course we explained to him about the Blue Star Moms and how we support our Troops each month, by sending care packages. He said “wait a minute”,and pulled out his billfold and handed us $10 to help us with our boxes❤️ First blessing…
Then, of course, they put the items we need way up on the shelf ,where neither one of us can reach, and we have to either find an associate who has a ladder or a tall customer! 😉Thankfully, both times we found one of each! That was our second blessing ❤️
As we were checking out with our five overflowing baskets, a lot of our items were heavy, like peanut butter,and jelly. We asked if we could get help carrying our things out and unloading, (I am still on weight restrictions, 🙄 which is the pits when you’re used to doing what needs to be done😬)Third blessing ❤️…. They sent FOUR associates to help us out with the baskets and unload!
Fourth blessing❤️when we got to our room, we had reinforcements! Tom, Linda and Gary showed up to help us unload the car and take the supplies into our room.
It was a great day!

What a phenomenal outpouring of support for our Troops!
43 people showed up tonight to pack 143 Thanksgiving boxes !

Not only our volunteers who come each month, but our Firefighters, our Sheriff and Under Sheriff, students from Pryor and Adair, families who had never been before came out, teachers, moms and dads. It was absolutely heartwarming!

I can’t tell you how much I love our community ❤️.

Thank you so much for coming out tonight and packing our Troops Thanksgiving boxes to bring our deployed men and women, Thanksgiving from home.

After 9/11 the first soldiers to enter Afghanistan had to do so on horseback. It was a tough mission, but the Green Berets Special Forces took the call bravely and with honor. Fast forward 20 years some these soldiers retired, started American Freedom Distillery and Horse Soldier Whiskey Bourbon was born.

I got to meet Sgt., Michael Whalen, at the Salina Schools Veterans Day assembly, honoring our Veterans.
Sgt. Whalen, a Vietnam War Veteran, was signing the book he wrote, about his good and bad experiences he witnessed during the war. This book and sharing his story, helped him to recover from the losses of those dear to him.
What an incredible book this would be to read, to understand some of the experiences that our military had to endure.
