Queen Jackson Cosmetics
Welcome Queens!
is a great time
to learn more about important yet
often forgotten African-American
women such as Bessie Coleman – the
first African American woman to earn
an international pilot’s license!
Despite facing discrimination, she
achieved this impressive feat in 1921
and became an inspirational role
model for other female pilots.
In honor of Black History Month,
let’s come together to raise
awareness about the critical issues
that continue facing African
American communities today—
from health disparities, economic
inequality and criminal justice
reform.
Who are some other notable
figures from African-American
history? Let's talk about it this
Black History Month!
Last day to snag you one! These will be removed from the site tomorrow! Orange & Blue not pictured but they’re included of course!
In celebration of
, let's take a
moment to appreciate the
incredible African-American
women who have shaped and
inspired our history. From early
civil rights activists to modern-day
leaders, these trailblazers have
changed the world!
This Black History Month, let's
honor the African American
entrepreneurs who've fearlessly
created and founded small
businesses despite the hurdles
and odds stacked against them.
Do you know Fannie Lou Hamer -
civil rights leader who worked
toward securing voting rights for
African Americans? Her courage
and perseverance helped
transform American society by
bringing awareness of injustices
across societies worldwide ❤
Calling all inspiring Black Women
Leaders: Our February spotlight
goes out to Madam CJ Walker -
entrepreneur who became
America’s first self-made female
millionaire selling cosmetics & hair
care products specifically
designed for Black Women
We celebrate individuals like Maya
Angelou & James Baldwin that
made important contributions in
literature & used their words as a
means for social change during
segregation.
Words
Soaring high above any obstacles
exists Tarana Burke - founder of
movement that inspired
millions around world with its
mission ‘empowerment through
empathy’; A strong reminder that
together we can make a
difference
Sojourner Truth made waves
when she spoke out against
slavery and advocated for rights
for both women and minorities
alike during 19th century America
- a daring move at a time when it
wasn't accepted or even tolerated
by many sections of society. Let’s
keep her spirit alive during this
month:
Have you heard about Mary
McLeod Bethune - educator
whose tireless efforts towards
education benefited thousands of
young black minds? Did you know
she founded one of America’s first
historically black colleges called
Bethune Cookman University?
Now is a crucial time for us all to
come together regardless of race
or background--and enhance love
& solidarity among one another--
particularly on occasions such as
BHM which allows us space for
reflection on how far we've come
together but still how much
further there is left go !!
Rosa Parks is often remembered for
her act of defiance when she refused
to give up her seat on a bus in
Montgomery, Alabama – but did you
know that she was also an advocate
for gender equality? Her work with
groups like the NAACP exposed the
sexism and racism that women faced
during the civil rights era.
Join me this
as we honor some of our most
iconic African American leaders
such as Malcolm X who believed in
self-defense for black people
against white aggression or
Angela Davis who spoke up
against racism and discrimination
influencing millions around her.
