Our next door neighbors at Ästhetik skincare helped us a great deal when we were preparing our store for Hurricane Milton. Let’s keep helping our neighbors and supporting our local businesses! ❤️
We’re open today 10 am - 2 pm (shortened hours) with Cathy and Serena on duty! So if you need a book, a bit of a/c, or a respite from hurricane clean up, come see us! We might not have internet (still out as of Friday afternoon), but we still may be able to take credit cards. Cash would be best, if you can!
FYI
Milton tried, but he didn’t get in. We’re so happy to report that Copperfish Books had no water intrusion and our team is ok. We’ll be back to business as soon as power returns and we can put the store back in order. Hoping for a Saturday reopening but it may be Tuesday. We’ll keep you posted. To all residents and businesses affected and cleaning up from the storm, we send our love and hopes for a speedy recovery. ❤️
Thank you to Eli and Ben for helping us seal up our doors. Shutters are up and we’ve prepped the store as much as we can. Hoping for the best!
HURRICANE CLOSURE: Copperfish Books will be closed until sometime after Hurricane Milton passes through. We hope everyone in the storm's path are working on their preparations, as we are.
Our Mostly Fiction Book Club will now meet next week on Wednesday, October 16 at 6 pm. And, as always, new books will still come out on Tuesday, but we’ll hold off on our usual new release email until things settle down.

Hello, friends! Hurricane Helene came and went, and we hope everyone stayed safe through the storm. It was a reminder of how unpredictable life can be, but there’s one constant we can always count on: a great book. Our staff has been diving into some amazing reads lately, and we wanted to share what’s been on our shelves. Whether you're unwinding after the storm or just looking for your next escape, we hope you find something you’ll love. ❤️
It’s the morning after Hurricane Helene. If you were affected by the storm, we hope you’re doing ok. We know there was/is significant flooding in Punta Gorda, and our hearts go out to our neighboring businesses who are dealing with issues and cleanup. From what we know, the bookstore faired well, for which we are very thankful. We will remain CLOSED TODAY and we encourage everyone to stay off the roads. We’ll be open again on Saturday 10-4 if you’d like to come in for a post-storm respite.
In light of Hurricane Helene approaching, we’ll be closed this Thursday to ensure everyone’s safety. However, we're open today from 10 AM to 5 PM, so feel free to stop by!
Please note: our Romance Book Club meeting scheduled for this evening has been postponed. We’ll announce the new date soon.
We’ll be monitoring conditions for Friday, and if Helene is kind to us, we’ll be open regular hours! 🤞
Thanks so much for your understanding. Stay safe and cozy—and remember, books make the best storm companions! 📚❤️
