I can't believe I missed International Harry Potter Day yesterday!!!! 🪄🧙‍♂️

This wedding from October of 2022 is still one of my favorites to date. It was Harry Potter themed, and it was just a magical day. Shelby did amazing to make sure it wasn't juvenile, but adult and well done. They got married under a covered bridge with the Mirror of Erised behind them. She has HP converses, and each of the 4 houses was represented. I want to do a post of just the details because they were top-notch.

I even wore my Griffyndor robe and wore an HP hat made by an amazing hat designer.

We only did a couple photos with their patronus (see last pic) and a picture with the unbreakable vow.

Happy Belated Earth Day! Spent the day on my beautiful mountains with a beautiful couple!

Lyndsay and Adam get married next month, and I'm so excited for it! They are such a fun couple who has put their trust in me and I'm so grateful to them.

We went frolicking through the woods, and I can't wait to frolick through the woods for their wedding day as well.

I've been a mess over here lately. And when I get into a mess, I slow down and just forget about social media. Is anyone else like that?

My mental state hadn't been the best. Mind is heavy, having a hard time focusing. The good thing is that my doctor listened to me and put in all the referrals I asked for! I can't wait to see the results and start the process to fix whatever needs fixing.

✨️I'm the loud friend. The one that can be crazy, but I do have a softer side. I'm also loud due to a genetic hearing loss. I should be wearing my hearing aids, but I don't. 😅
✨️I've been doing photography since I can remember. I was that friend who always brought a disposable to sleepovers or get togethers. My HS photography teacher told me I didn't have the eye for it. 👀 But, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I do believe now, though, I've grown enough to know what's up. 🤣
✨️I'm the kind of person who doesn't take life too seriously. I can laugh at myself and have a sense of humor, but also a sensitive soul.
✨️ I live in t-shirts and jeans. I love Star Wars, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, FRIENDS, Parks and Rec, the Office, Call the midwife, and of course, anything to do with serial killers. I live for the 80's and most of the 90s.
✨️ Tacos are life (authentic street, not american), and I'm a lover of Mac n chez (that's how we say it in this house).

My husband retires next year, so we're in Washington forever. It's where I grew up. It has my heart. I do love to travel as well. I love deep and hard, so if you're in my circle, you're in my circle for life. I love what I do with photography. I love capturing who you are.

This one isn't too outlandish. I try so hard to nail correctly exposure every time I shoot. It helps with applying the preset I use to edit all my photos. Some of the time, I will underexposed to get the sunset colors correct.

A real-life English castle right here in the middle of Lakewood!

Seriously! They lifted it off the ground from England and brought it over. Such a stunning location. The architecture, the staircase, the hidden gems. All of it is just a dream location.

Ellie & Nick picked Thornewood Castle as their reception side to their wedding. They had a Catholic ceremony at St. Charles before. The whole day was emotional. The love that was shown to both Nick and Ellie was magical. You can tell that both families united to watch these two get married and support them in everything they are about to do.

It's hard to form the words for a wedding that completely stole my heart. From watching Ellie grow up from a beautiful young girl (her mom worked for my dad) to this amazing adult, from knowing they picked me for my style and colors, to knowing how I know exactly what they felt, emotionally with her dad having Parkinson's. It was one that will live rent-free in my mind forever.

Thank you, Nick & Ellie, both your parents for letting me capture your wedding. It was an honor.

We did a quick senior session indoors at for Madi. I just had to get her on my feed!

I absolutely love this studio. It's quaint but bright, and she has a lot to offer! Couches, chairs, stools, toys, rugs, etc! Anything you'd need to make it look like a charming living room set up.

Oh hey there!

I was hoping I'd have something witty to say by now because that's one of my goals for this year. Is to write better captions. Which I am not good at. So, I guess I'll just try to stay true to me and sound like me in my captions. 🤣

Day 2 of 2024. Not a lot going on personally. I think that's good, yes? My boys went back to school, well 2 out of the 3. Sinus infection has infiltrated my family, so 3 are sick, but 2 are home. The oldest and the husband, which, if you think about it, he is the oldest. 🫣🫶🏼

I have started to write out my goals and what I'd like to see for my photography business for this year. It's always so overwhelming for me to do that. It's so good to have goals, and I do, but more so, God likes to come in and change them or reroute my plans. I always take my sights on Him and his path for me. I trust God 100% with everything He does.

This year, I plan on connecting and getting out there more. I'm sure more words will come to me as the week goes on, but for now, that's all my brain has. Oh, and I plan on probably adding in more of my favorite quotes from TV shows.

Yesterday was a dream.

I've known Ellie's mom since she started working for my dad. Ellie was just a little girl. I've got to watch her grow up from all Donna has told us, and the few times we got to see her and her sister at the office for special occasions.

Out of the blue, I got an email from Ellie. Her last name preceded me, but when we jumped on their consultation call, I immediately recognized her! She looks just like her mom. I was so touched that they picked me not only for my style and editing, but because (I'm crying now) both of our dads have Parkinson's. She wasn't sure what kind of day he'd have 6 months from our initial call, but to be on alert for their special father daughter dance if he got some energy to stand (he's in a wheelchair). Not ONLY did he get to walk his daughter down the isle, he got to DANCE with her. We had to stop the music mid song and go with the flow, and it was so special. Mind you, we were about to cut the cake.

Okay, okay, I need to stop so I can see and finish this post. I'm not kidding when I say I can emotionally understand what Ellie and her sister are going through, I can.

Does anyone else feel like this?! We are now less than a week away! Luckily, we are all done shopping unless you count the dogs. My to-do list today is to
edit,
send 2 galleries,
grocery shop, and
continue wrapping presents.

Let's see if I can get everything done so that tomorrow I can bake cookies! I have about 4 different kinds I'm going to make. I did it back in October, and I did it in 3 hours! But, this time, I'm making my yummy sugar cookies, so the frosting will take longer. I don't like royal icing, so I use buttercream! My mouth is watering, just talking about them.
