July is UV Safety Awareness Month! NMCRS Twentynine Palms, Visiting Nurse Lisa Negri, has taught sun safety for many years.
Check out her top tips for keeping your skin safe in the sun, from The American Academy of Dermatology and the American Cancer Society:
�Apply sunscreen every day with an SPF of at least 30. Look for “broad-spectrum” on the label to protect against UVA and UVB rays.
�Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before heading outdoors. Reapply every 2 hours, or more often if you're swimming or sweating.
�Wear sunglasses that offer total UV protection. Choose makeup and contact lenses that include UV protection. Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine!
