27:17 Forge
Custom handmade knives and eventually swords. Veteran run, pro American and pro law enforcement.
Getting back into the shop with a very low layer billet to knock the dust off
Time for the second hour of tempering in the oven at 450 degrees
Setting up my first Damascus billet ever while grinding a commissioned San mai mini Bowie. Forge welds are set on the Damascus, time to cut it and restack it
Setting some forge welds for a San mai billet for my next project, a commissioned project for a friend.
My eighth knife, a small knife requested by my middle son and he even helped forge it. Upswept trailing point style made from 1095 with epoxy resin scales that he choose and 1/8” brass pins. It also included my first attempt to hammer my “maker’s mark” into the finished product
My middle son’s blade is quenched and tempered, I even tried my hand at striking my ”maker’s mark” into the blade. Hard to see without being cleaned up, but it says 27/17
Little shop helper. He’s cleaning up and even swinging the hammer a few times on his ”upward swept trailing point” knife
Aside from a bit of polishing my seventh completed knife. A clip point hunter with forced mustard patina. Blade is mono steel 1095 with faux ivory handle scales and 1/4” brass pins.
Mustard anyone?
Weight loss program and initial sharpening is done, now time for the trademark “clamp porcupine”
This clip point hunter is entering a weight loss program before I’m going to start the bevels. I’m wondering what handle materials I should use when the time comes, faux ivory or one of my fancy woods?
Back in the shop, time to turn this 1095 into something
