Our mission is to assist homeless and at-risk Veterans strive for normalcy in life by providing food, clothing, shelter, and other basic human needs.

We built the first tiny home vet village in the state of WI (Racine) and are expanding to Milwaukee! Our original 15-unit Racine, WI, tiny home village for veterans experiencing homelessness opened in 2017. In less than two years, we have already graduated 13 residents to more traditional housing with healthy savings accounts, restored credit scores, jobs and a renewed sense of health and wellness

The Veteran Village - A place for our homeless Veterans

At Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin, we believe in giving back to those who gave so much to us. Our Veterans honorably served our country and out of those who came back, some returned only to face hard times. They deserve more. We must stand up, extend a hand, and help them back to their feet.

We began in 2013 helping Veterans with furniture. This was a small operation, supplying furniture out of a garage. It quickly moved to a barn and then a warehouse. The need was definitely there. But Veterans didn't just need furniture, they needed clothing. From that, we began to collect and provide clothing to those in need. The next need was food, and so we moved forward and created a food pantry.

When we thought we had covered all the needs, our Veterans spoke up and asked for one more thing - housing. As everything before, we took this request very seriously and began the process of building a home for Veterans who deserved so much more than being homeless.

In November 2017, we opened our doors to the James A. Peterson Veteran Village and SC Johnson Community center. We succeeded in building this wonderful project because of the overwhelming support from the community. We had a community that stood with us in the fight to give back to our Heroes. We could not have asked for stronger support.
