Idea to completion: 2 weeks!

J&V Martinez Landscape, LLC and some Walden HS Walnuts (students of Mr. Fuhrer) are true HALO HEROS!

All it took was one call to J&V (my favorite landscaper 😁) and we went from dirt/weed patch to HALO HOPE ROCK GARDEN!

Mr. Fuhrer’s students removed the topsoil, J&V donated and delivered landscape material and gravel, a few guests and our Jason filled it in, and WE now host a rock swap garden!

If you’re a follower, please help us “grow” our garden!

If you’d like to provide rocks, we’d love them to be hopeful! Rainbows, bright colors, and encouraging words (HOPE?) are welcome!

Dear Racine Community,

It's a new day at HALO! We have been working very hard on these priorities:

Building community bridges & partnerships
Elevating the level of dignity for our guests stay
Igniting the spirit of HOPE for staff, guests AND community!

I'm pleased to share a brief update on the first few months of our journey.

Now it's time for

THE ASK

We have an abundance of need. Everything from coffee, peanut butter and snacks to twin bedding. As the weather gets colder, those bedding needs are critical.

We also know our community steps up when asked.

We humbly ask on behalf of our 90 guests, that you consider donating from AMAZON or if you have CLEAN, gently used twin bedding, we sure could use it. Clean enough to make a bed right away. Clean enough that your mom would be proud :-)

Together, we will improve our guests stay.

HALO is excited to announce a new community partnership with The DeKoven Center for a nutritious meal program starting next week!

We love creating and building these ties in our community, especially when it's a WIN-WIN!

This partnership means a RELIABLE, CONSISTENT, HEALTHY meal plan for our guests AND employment for the Dekoven staff as they head in to a slower conference season.

Now there are numerous ways to support a food program at HALO:

The black tote tour stopped at HOPE COMMUNITY CHURCH this morning to share the message of OPERATION HALO HOPE.

Thank you to the generous congregation for reaching out, listening and for our sustaining partnership.

We can’t do what we do without you.

As I left, I was flagged down by a woman waving me to stop- she handed me the baggie of coins in the picture.

“I wish it was more” she said.

She gave us her heart in that bag.

We’re going to be ok. ♥️
