With a family tradition of honesty and craftsmanship we serve our customers with exceptional quality
Emissions testing is performed from 8:00 AM until 2:00PM then 3:30PM until 5:00PM, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, no appointment necessary.
Just a quick heads up / reminder that it is Piny's 5th grade grade graduation today so the shop will be completely closed from 12 noon to about 3:30. Our family is all in on this stuff so that means we will all be in attendance for this event. We know that you folks understand because the best customers in the world walk through our front door every day. Thanks a bunch for the understanding
It's a beautiful Sunday with a break in the rain. Did you know that we do lots and lots of brake jobs on these Ford transit vans so be sure to tell your friends so we can help keep them stopping to. We are putting in a little over time this weekend getting 2 vans fixed up for our friends at Karlsen Plumbing. This van is getting a brake job all the way around 4 new tires and a wheel alignment. We really appreciate all of the business from the best customers in the world
Emissions testing notice. The Racine Police Department was here today to inform us of a complaint to the Mayor's office regarding the Emissions line that has been forming in the road. It is not ok to form a line on or in the road. We look at this as providing a needed community service so we need people to cooperate and understand that this cannot continue. It is not fair to our customers who can't get into our parking lot to pick up or drop off vehicles. It is not fair to the general public that has to use the roadway to get to and from there destination every day. We feel that we have gone above and beyond to make this service as efficient as possible getting the vehicles in and out as fast as possible. We ask that if this line is forming in the roadway to either find another test center of which there are several or kindly come back when there is not a line. We appreciate everybody to the moon and back and we appreciate your understanding on this matter
As a family we are very excited to finally announce to our wonderful customers that we purchased another location. Just so there is no confusion this will be operated as a satellite location and all customer contact will be at the same shop with the same phone number that we have used since 1981. This new shop gives us some much needed space to repair the larger taller vehicles such as work vans, and dump trucks etc. We've also purchased a brand new computerized wheel alignment system that can handle your daily drivers and large heavy work trucks, and vans. This has been a long process of fixing, bulding, repairing, painting, assembling, and training. We definitely want to thank Trina and Steve for letting us borrow their scissor lift for almost a year without it, most of our improvements would not have been possible. You will also notice the one off hand painted mural on the south wall. We have wanted something like this mural for a long time, and it will provide the perfect backdrop when we highlight some of the great repair work that you give us the opportunity to perform. All of the credit for the mural goes to locally renowned, artist Don Ricchio. We gave him some ideas and a little insight on what we were after, and he took over from there and it turned out perfect. All of or great customers made this not only possible but also necessary, and we are so very grateful for those of you. As mentioned earlier in this post nothing will change on your end of things. We appreciate and look forward to carrying on business as usual tomorrow and beyond.
Best customers in the world. Jamie from Racine County Opportunity Center took it upon herself to make us these awesome cups. We truly appreciate the relationships that we are able form with you guy's and we absolutely mean it when we say that the best customers in the world walk through our front door. We also want to wish you all a happy Easter weekend
2/27/24 Emission testing is closed today Becky is out having oral surgery. Thank you all for the great business we really appreciate all of our amazing customers.
The best customers in the world we truly appreciate you all. Thank you Janet Hornickel for always thinking of us.
A quick pit stop for this guy, everybody loves Aj. His plow truck was a no crank no start. Snowplow trucks rust and corrode in the strangest places. The under hood fuse box was corroded beyond repair and needed to be replaced. Chuck has been popping out these engine replacements like crazy, this one is for big Joe. Maggie will update the new tune into the computer and this chevy will be back in service. Thank you to all of our great customers. This year is already rocking and rolling
We truly have the best customers in the universe, John with the Dodge magnum was so kind to bring all of us our own stocking stuffed with goodies and something extra special for Becky. We are wishing all of our customers/friends a happiest of holidays.
Just a quick reminder that we will be closed the 23rd through the 25th for some much needed family time. We appreciate all of you folks to the moon and back and we are definitely thankful for you all.
A little walk down memory lane here making carberator adjustments. We do not service many classic cars but we took this project on a few months ago. We repaired some leaks, repaired the fuel gauge, removed the breaker points and installed electronic ignition. The ignition install turned into finding out that the timing marks were not correct so there was no way to set the ignition timing etc. The computer does all of this for you on modern day fuel injection cars so we kinda forget about this stuff sometimes. It's been busy busy and we appreciate all you our great customers to the moon and back.
10/20/23 the phone is currently not working at the shop. We apologize for any inconvenience. We will update ad soon as things are working again. Thank you all so much.

We were able to take Jared's tow truck to a touch a truck event today at the Racine County Opportunity Center today. Jared seems to only bring the truck out for these kind of events lately so he really enjoys the opportunity to take it for a ride.
Due to the rain emission testing is closed Monday May 1st. 🌦🌧⛈️🌨☔️
Maggie, wanted to give quick shout out and atta boy to one of our favorite customers Russ W on the spectacular job he does with maintaining his turbo engine. Look how clean the oil filter is, this is how you get maximum life out of your eco boost engine. We really appreciate all of our customers and the great business.
4/11/23 Emission testing is closed today. We appreciate each and everyone one of our amazing customers.
This is called chasing weights, otherwise known as not actually balancing tires lol. Anytime you see the wheel weights scattered about on the same side of the wheel that is likely what has happened. We had this problem years ago so Maggie worked with one of our fellow repair shops and a couple of vendors to figure out that the problem was that the wheel needs to be centered in the tire balancer with what's called a lug centric plate which is what she is holding. This solved our problem and it allows us to perform a very accurate tire balance. We want to wish all of our awesome customers a very happy Easter
4/4/23 Emission testing is closed for the rain. 🌧⛈️🌩☔️
4/3/23 no emissions testing in the rain thank you all for understanding

3/24/23. Emissions testing will be closing at 4pm today so we can attend the father daughter dance with our girls tonight. Tomorrow will be 8 to noon unless it is snowing in which case we would not be testing. Thank you to everyone for the understanding we appreciate you all to the moon and back
It's been very busy with large time consuming repairs lately. Jared knocked it out of the park on a Ford eco boost timing chain job that included all new chains, sprockets, actuators, tensioners, and guides. Not only the main chain, but also both secondary chains. It was all hands on deck with this hemi engine job in our friend Rollin's Ram. This was a displacement on demand engine that he opted to have deleted. Do do this we had to have a new program written into the computer. After several road blocks, it took most of Maggie's day to complete. Both of these trucks now run like a Swiss watch and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thank you to all of our customers and for your patience with us. It really does help the final product and the overall quality of the repairs.

Our History:
The original owners of the shop that we call home today were the Kinsman Family. Known then as South-Side Mobil, there were three different operators: Jerry Hougard, Curt Hipke, and Chuck Holten.
The shop was then sold to Wally Millbraph. He owned and operated the establishment until he sold the business to Chuck Pinkalla in 1981.
South-Side Mobil
We began serving Racine in 1981 as Chuck's Mobil & Radiator. At that time radiator repair and cooling system service was our main focus, along with being a full service Mobil oil dealer.
