Hey y'all, so late last night a lady called me and normally I don't answer that late but I did cause I was up working and she was the sweetest but also very upset and crying because she didn't know what to do So I wanted to drop few tips for dispatchers to help save you few headaches
1. Do not over commit, meaning DO NOT promise things just to get someone on board with you! That you know might be impossible, this is your reputation!
2. Unless y'all have an understanding, DONT work with someone who self dispatches. IE: OP: Hey I dispatch myself to Utah need you get me a load out of here
Now the dispatcher is stressed because there aren't any loads, and the driver is now mad and fussing cause you can't get him out!
3. Don't let someone make you say you can provide certain salary requirements, especially when they have tons of restrictions, only want stay local within 200 miles, only has box truck, no weekends etc but wants you to promise 10k a week umm sir/ma'am 😑😐👀
4. DISPATCHER IT IS YOUR JOB TO KEEP UP WITH CHECK CALLS, it's your job to keep the broker updated with good & BAD communication, so the broker can be able to handle any set backs or delays with said customer! You have to communicate! If it's at 2am makes sure the driver has emails, or number to reach broker in case you don't answer!
5. Make sure you're organized so you won't misplace a load or not know if you accepted a load or who you gave the load too! It'll be long day if you send wrong address to wrong driver or forget you took a load!
Be prepared, set yourself up for success and greatness! This business is hard so don't make it harder when it doesn't have to be!
I hope you guys are working towards your 2023 goals keep pushing 💪🏾

Hey y'all hey! It's Friday!!!! What y'all doing? Did you doing anything to get you closer to your goal today??
Good morning! I woke up to 30plus messages, asking me about the new dispatch law. So, 1. that information has always been within fmcsa, informing what makes broker vs dispatcher. However it seems now they have ruled on it to make it so ss of November15th ! But they have a deadline for others to put in a "comment" to change the ruling by January i think, from what I'm understanding. See screenshots in comments. Hope this helps happy Thursday!!! 😊 also I taught this in my class months ago so this wouldn't be a surprise to anyone if they sealed the deal on it!
I know it's late but so many people are having such hard time in trucking not sure why, I've been seeing some crazy stuff going on in the trucking industry! So here few tips if you're thinking of getting into this industry!
1. Don't let nobody give you information they found on Google, cause they goin have you broke! Always get clarification!!
2. Yes , you can drive box truck or hot shot without CDL. As long as it carries 26000lbs or less
3. PLEASE KNOW YOUR MARKET!! IF someone says get a box truck it's money in it! Don't jump and buy 2/3 box trucks!! Box truck loads are very slim, look into government contracts if you have more than 1 truck
4. Big rigs(18wheelers) if you're a NEW driver or new trucking company your first 6 months to a year will be rough because most brokers won't deal with new companies, however don't be to picky about where you wanna go, get out of your head you wanna be home every weekend AND make big money, 97% sure it won't happen!
5. If you're owner op and and you're signing up under someone else's authority, please read your contract!!
6. Stop believing this industry is a get rich quick thing cause you will be broke just as quick!!
7. Negotiate when talking to a broker don't let them give you just anything! Know your market and how to talk and what rate to ask for! Build relationships with brokers so you won't have to always depend on load boards
8. Try Amazon Relay it is awesome way to get out there, loads do pay little less (I did it for short time) they have their own requirements to pull for them!
9. Try not to use a factoring company forever, if possible have some money saved!
10. Make sure you're not leaving money on the table, keep track of all invoice/POD, make sure you have all your paperwork for audits
You keep quiting that's why it didn't work, you won't stay consistent that's why it didn't work, you only put in 25% or 50%. That's why! Do something different to reach your goals!
Learn something Friday! What is one thing you want to learn in the industry??
Tip of the day: A broker's job is to make as much money as possible, So if you don't ask for more you won't get more! All brokers aren't bad! Oh and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
Tip of the day: dispatchers, I know you want to make money but make sure you're thinking of your truckers needs, make sure whatever % you're charging your WORTH! Remember you're working on their behave in every way! Advocate for them! Negotiate for them! You go hard for them and alot of them won't mind paying you little extra!!! Happy Thursday 😊
What would be 1 thing you would want to learn in the industry?
Tip of the day: you won't ever be fully ready! JUST START!! 💪🏾
