Yes I know there are some who start preparing for Christmas in July but I decided it would be best that I wait until after Halloween at least before releasing a new Christmas book!!

What is Santa doing while we prepare for Christmas day? Maybe he's slacking off or he could be hard at work. That's what the kids in this book want to know as well.

It's summer!!! That means cookouts, BBQs and parties. That also mean food and lots of it. Don't forget about your food allergy kids during all the festivities! We have started our read aloud program on youtube!!! Subscribe to McMillan Reading Nook!! If you have a young child you would like to see featured in their own read aloud video please send us a clip along with their name, age and where they are from! We will upload a video to our new YouTube to share with young readers across the world. The comment section of our youtube channel is monitored as well. Only positive comments will be shown.

If you decide to record using your phone please turn your phone on its side and not up and down.
Also record your child in a quiet space with no music or videos playing in the background so their video does not get muted by youtube.

It does not matter the reading level. Even if your child is in picture books and wants to describe what they see on the page. From baby through teenage are welcome to read or describe or read their books.

Let's help our children become more comfortable and confident in reading as well as improve language skills!
