Know what you’re buying. This picture has store beef(right), and farm beef(left). There is an obvious visible difference between the two but the differences don’t stop there!
1. You may notice the color difference in the picture. The store bought is pumped full of additives and preservatives, including propyl gallate, to protect against spoilage due to long term air exposure.
2. There isn’t a guarantee of where that beef came from, OR how many cows are in it.
Yes, it may have the USDA label on it but as long as that animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA.
And yes, the meat in the right package is not from one single cow, rather scraps from multiple cows. It may have come from Argentina, Canada, or Brazil.
3. The beef on the left is fresher, darker and is farm raised beef. It is filled with more nutrients & flavor. The ground is also from one cow and not just low quality scraps from multiple cows.

I think we should stop calling it “raw milk.”
We don’t call breast milk “raw”.
It’s just milk.
The garbage at the store is altered, mutated, mangoes “milk-based product”.
It’s just milk.
Say it with me.
“Milk”.
Welcome to the world, little ones.
Closing out a long day of momming, mowing, tilling and finally, milking.
Grateful for this type of work.

Women, for the love of God, let men help you. We have cultivated an atmosphere that is both toxic to men and harmful to women. It’s a major driver of health problems (like prolapse and adrenal fatigue) in women. And it’s rooted in the devaluing of our work as women. Let me explain. Today I brought my boys to pick up feed for our animals.
https://open.substack.com/pub/wisewomen/p/men?r=zdo21&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
Men. Last week at the grocery store my boys and I were chatting with the two young (about 17 years old) gentleman checking us out and bagging our groceries. The conversation revolved around outdoor work and the bagger said that his favorite outdoor activity is chopping wood.
So many people struggling to digest their food these days.
If that’s you,
likely you aren’t making enough bile.
Your liver is working overtime detoxing from medications, shots, fillers in your food and or alcohol and all that depletes bile production.
While addressing those issues is paramount, taking ox bile and digestive enzymes can help you better digest the nutritious food you need!
Highly recommend finding a good ox bile and taking with meals.
This one is a good one, in my opinion and Dr. Berg has good videos on liver and gallbladder health too.
Ways to support your liver:
dandelion root
milk thistle
castor oil packs
Ferrum phosphoricum
Stop drinking alcohol
Be sure to have overnight 12 hour fast
Use liver bitter spray
Address emotional turmoil and stress
Walk daily (leisurely)
“I’m just a girl,
standing in front of a boy,
asking him to,
‘Look at this caul fat!’.”
We butchered our first cow together.
Probably gonna delete later because robots will steal this to make phony art.
If you want the details, I will share on Substack.
PS-I grew up in the city.
Happy Friday!
This is the story of our cow.
We decide to buy a dairy cow In July of 2022 Jeremiah and I decided to invest in a dairy cow. The Wise Women’s Circle is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. At the time I was milking five goats a day and my family didn’t even like goat milk.
Have you noticed how much news/social media is always trying to get you out of your body and local experience?
Everything is, “Something terrible is happening over HERE and you should be worried about it.”
Or, “Find out what THIS expert says is the secret to solving your health issues.”
In 2022 I realized that one of the best things I could do for the world was to make sure my own house was in order, love and connect to my “neighbor” and pay more attention to my local communities like my family, my little town and my systems in my body and what they say to me.
I do think that there’s a time and a place for activism, but I’m also certain that emotional manipulation, fear mongering and FOMO are tools of distraction used to get us out of the-
present
our bodies
our homes
and innate wisdom.
So for me lately it’s been a lot of, “think local, act local.”
And that has made quite the difference.
Meat-eating Matriarch.
This week the Wise Women Circle will be getting the story of how we process our pigs.
We do everything ourselves because we believe that our animals should die at home in a field (or the woods) eating and chilling right up until@the end.
We also value learning every aspect of animal husbandry, including the harvesting and want to be prepared for the complexity and physicality of growing and harvesting animals.
Folks will tell you that you can send your animals off to be processed, that’s it’s easier, but we don’t like dependence on big systems that take away our control and sovereignty.
Other folks will tell you that it’s wrong to kill animals.
I spent my masters degree visiting crop based farms all over NC and I can tell you first hand that loads of animals die for crops like corn, sorghum, soy, wheat, strawberries, etc.
And there days nutritionist will argue that you don’t need meat to be healthy.
Women, listen to me.
You need animal protein.
You need liver, collagen, glycine, choline, marrow, bioavailable copper, b12 and k1 and k2 to have strong bones, muscles, balanced hormones, beautiful hair and skin and fewer wrinkles.
Don’t believe the propaganda-you need meat.
No fire can burn me
No battle can turn me
No mountain can stop me
All because (you hold my hand).
And oh how you walk with me
Oh how you talk with me (you talk with me)
Oh how you tell me
I am your own

“I believe that the online space is a place that offers loads of opportunity for people, especially women, to monetize their gifts to support their families and make a living, but this post isn’t about that.
This is about the place we’ve come to in society where we have learned to measure the value of what we bring to the world simply via two forms of currency, audience side and dollah bills.
It’s about our preoccupation with using our gifts for personal gain or fame not realizing that using them without all the fan fare is just as important because it’s how we touch REAL PEOPLE’s lives and become better people in real life.”

On monetizing your gifts Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Romans 12:1 A gentle and encouraging reminder to all the wise women that using your gifts doesn’t have to mean “monetizing...
You’re money, Baby.
You’re so money.
It’s always a sad when a mama can’t nurse her babies, but these lambs were part of a quad born to one ewe at a farm up the road and she didn’t take to them.
My ten year old is raising them on raw goat and cow milk and so far, so good!
Aren’t they precious?
Baby goats are sweet but we definitely are more lamb people.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year,
SPRING!
I love a feisty woman as much as the next person.
No one admires a pushover, it’s the women that don’t take crap from anyone that we rally behind, that we want to be
A street-smart women that know the deal and make things happen is what we look to in times of difficulty.
These days it’s become very popular to be a “brassy and sassy” lady.
The Beth Dutton personality has become queen in the time of and ladies be out there setting everybody straight, bossin’ and brawling when necessary.
But to be a bold and strong woman that commands respect in real life, you can’t be a chaotic, antagonistic, drama-filled being inside.

A calm and quiet soul My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with greats matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed my soul and quieted myself, like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child I am content. Psalm 131

You knew me
Before I knew myself
You put Your breath inside of me,
Creation sings
Of Your majesty
We're joining in the symphony
Oh, just to know You
And to be known by You, my God
There's nothing sweeter
Oh, just to sing right to Your heart
To be known
You must choose because choices are being made consciously or unconsciously

A cow is not a bull.
Matriarchs need Patriarchs to partner with.
We also need to give them space to lead.
I can be a strong nourished woman because I am partnered to a strong man.
He steers the ship over here which means I don’t have to expend lots of energy leading, but supporting.
My thyroid, adrenals, hormones, gut and pelvic floor don’t respond well when I try to absorb all the stress of providing for a family yet he’s biologically designed to be able to manage such stress.
I don’t believe women are inherently weak but I do know we have an incredible skill set to love, nourish and intuit in a way that men just can’t.
We need to protect and cultivate those skills but caring for ourselves and not competing with men for their job.
When we do their job, we leave a vacancy in our role.
And yes I am sorry that some women are partnered with weak men.
I know that many women WANT to lead and that’s for them to choose and make decision on.
But I would ask you, “What is the cost? Is your body happy with your choices? Is your nervous system, hormones and mood screaming at you that it’s too much?”
Need a masculine force in your life when men have let you down and forced you to take on work that isn’t optimal for you?
Take it to the Lord, the ultimate masculine force for us.
Leave room for HIM to provide.
Ready yourself to RECEIVE.
Unless of course you enjoy white knuckling it?
I know I did once upon a time, so I feel ya.
But with age and wisdom I’ve learned that He must become Greater and I must become less.
That He has jobs for me and they are NOT the same jobs as the ones He has for my husband.
A cow is not a bull.

Monday Matriarch Meditation
The Femininity of living seasonally There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens: A time to be born and a time to die A time to plant and a time to uproot, A time to kill and a time to heal, A time to tear down and a time to build, A time to weep and a time to laugh,
Did y’all get your Wise Women Circle Substack today?
It’s a continuation of Monday’s post on nourishment.
I included:
-thoughts on breakfast and my breakfast
-why that first meal matters for your mood and your children’s moods
-why we process our own animals and thoughts in large systems’ ability to nourish.
Link on in bio or stories.
Paid subscribers you get to LISTEN to me read it, comment and join the chat!
Matriarch, when your child accidentally spills or breaks something suddenly do you lose your mind?
Some days are just hard and a spill on top of it all is just too much.
BUT if you’re in a pattern of freaking out when kids do kid things, like make messes-
-don’t get mad at yourself
-don’t feel like a failure
-don’t think you’re a bad mom,
Make a change.
A woman that is:
-overcommitted
-overtrained
-overscheduled
-overdoing it
doesn’t have the bandwidth for these things.
Her nervous system is on the fritz and she needs to lessen her load.
Take it as a hint that it’s time for a change, time for nourishment and time to do LESS.
Part of your job is to make sure you are fed in all the ways so you don’t lose your mind when things go awry, because awry they will go.
“My yoke is easy and my burden is light,” Matt 11.
