The drywall work around the holes in wiring closets has always been less than impressive. The drywall guys have a touch job fitting drywall with all the wiring in the way. Usually it’s impossible to mud because moving the wires ends up moving the area they are trying to work on.

I had the idea a while back of doing a fixed wooden plate the drywall guys can work up to and mud into place while also leaving a clean looking exit for the wires and conduit.

One house has been done so far and I think it turned out pretty good. I think this will be a trend we continue for future big projects.

Customers always ask how we know where all the wires are and where they go. Take pictures, label your wires, measure locations, write on the wall if you have to! I know it should make sense but I’m always impressed by the accuracy of measuring things!

Patch panels. Never a good time!

“Say hello to my little friend!” offers a variety speakers so you can find the right application to fit in tight spots or try to match small recessed lighting. They also offer low profile speakers for those instances where there’s a plumbing pipe or steel beam right where you want to put a speaker. Even though the 4” speaker is smaller it feels pretty hefty. Can’t wait for this project to get further a long so we can fire them up.

Wiring panel break down.

A little different from our usual work. Customer had his work PC laptop and Mac Mini on the desk and wanted to hide all the wires so he could just have the monitor and keyboard on the desk. We ran 2 HDMI’s and a USB cable over to the built-in cabinets. Then wire managed all the power cords and cables under and inside the desk. Oh and we mounted the TV in the corner. What office is complete without a little entertainment break?

Smart panel setup and install with Starlink internet and Eero wifi around the house. An Araknis 16 port switch allows every cat6 to be connected so every network jack in the house is ready for action.

This 85” Sony TV doesn’t look that big on this huge fireplace. You can barley notice the Sonos ARC hanging under the TV. The Sonos sub hiding in the corner is out of sight and helps complete the full range of sound for TV audio and music.

Basement party room with an 86” TV on the left and 2 43” TVs on the right. This will allow the kids to watch a movie on the big screen and dad can still keep up with football games on the little TVs.

The 86” is using an ARC audio extender to send sound back to a Sonos amp which in turn powers 4 in-ceiling speakers around the room. This allows the main equipment to be hidden away so there’s no need for a TV stand below the setup.

Now you see me … now you don’t! A recessed motorized screen lets you turn any room into a home theater. Bronze floor speakers provide awesome sound and a laser powered projector provide an a beautiful picture!

Samsung Frame TV never disappoints!

Trying something new with a custom trim plate. We normally use an LV2 (which is a plastic trim ring) but when all the wire goes through it gets warped out of shape which usually means the drywall job around it looks terrible, and it’s impossible to put a grommet or pass through plate on it. This is just 1/2” birch so the drywallers can butt right up to it and I put a bevel on the border so they can mud it and blend it into the wall … Or they may just drywall over the whole thing, who knows?!

Mounted some new and old Samsung Frame TVs at customer’s new home. The new model is thinner but the biggest improvement is the matte finish on the screen. This helps it look more like a canvas in art mode and also have less glare when watching the TV.

When you think you’ve seen your last tube TV … There’s always one lurking around! They said it was too heavy to move so here it sits. Hard to believe this was once the pinnacle of TV picture quality.
