Not because it's a smart watch, but because it takes the time to analyze the data.

Do you even know which symptoms you're experiencing? Being mindful is much more than using a meditation app. It's taking the time to be aware of what your body is communicating with you over time.
Chronic disease takes places over YEARS of neglecting your body.
Then, when you decide to "get something looked at" you're faced with an apathetic primary care provider who gives you advice that you LITERALLY could've found on WebMD.
So you go back to ignoring your symptoms as you tell yourself, maybe it "wasn't that bad."
It is imperative as patients and providers that we listen to symptoms as ABNORMAL responses to our environment. Take time to find solutions.

Cultivate your discernment to know the difference between discomfort, pain, and exhaustion.
True balance may require discomfort, pain and exhaustion, but it is your responsibility to moderate the dosages. You regulate your own balance.

1. Write down where you are, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially.
2. Do this at the start of each week for the next 6 months.
3. In 24 weeks, map your trajectory.
4. Use this information to plan your next 6 months.
5. Repeat.
The change you are making will not happen over night.
The results may not be discernible at first.
When you learn to accept patience, in health, in business, in relationships, you win the long game.

This was my husband's and my 70th birthday celebration in May.

Our children-- now adults-- took us to the arboretum after treating our extended family to brunch.
And as much as I love them, NONE of them have children yet. I tease it'll be another decade before I'm a grandma.
But in truth, if it is another decade, will I be strong enough to carry them? Nimble enough to chase them around? Will I be a confident guardian of my grandchildren at 80 years old?
Yes! I know exactly what to do, how to get there, and why. When you understand your underlying beliefs, roadblocks become speed bumps because you KNOW without a doubt your reason for succeeding.

5 WAYS to get your healthcare provider to LISTEN to you:
1. Use the direct approach, "Hey Dr. X, it feels like my appointments have been rushed and I'm not being listened to, can we go over my symptoms again?"
2. Bring a notebook with 5 of your symptoms-- ask how their solution will alleviate each one of your problems
3. If a specialist may be needed for your problems, request a referral immediately during your appointment.
4. Ask them to repeat your plan of action, your follow up, and the desired outcome
5. Ask to voice record your appointment if you feel you're not being taken seriously

I hear an alarming number of clients share stories of being ignored, mistreated, and even gaslit about the symptoms they share with their healthcare provider and the time it takes to receive proper testing, treatment, and medications. Many entrepreneurs and executives sacrifice parts of their lives in order to get ahead at work. That is normal. That is acceptable over a structured period of time.

My clients are often surprised to find out that I was a ballet dancer for many years, traveling the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. They're curious about my transition from dancing to "doctoring" as well. What I often say is that I knew I wanted to be a physician when I was six years old, but that the opportunity to travel the world as a young adult was irresistible. And so I did.
When that career began to wind down, I refocused my energies on my first love - medicine. Once admitted to Columbia University in New York for medical school, I found that the discipline I had garnered from 17 years of dancing made the rigorous study necessary almost pale in comparison. I graduated as a member of the National Honor Society and received the Franklin C. McClean Award, presented to the top minority medical student in the nation.
