welcomed this little guy into world this week! us and our other two munchkins are still in awe over him. he’s absolutely perfect and has already brought so much joy and love into our family. our hearts have never been so full. we are so excited to be able to call him ours. we love you to the moon, little roone!

Spent a classic evening roaming around Charleston with Lida + Kyle. It was what we’d consider a perfect day in the most charming city.

One question almost all couples ask us is how they can make the most of their engagement session. Of course, we’d love to share some of our favorite tips:

- Take some time to connect beforehand, prioritize uninterrupted time with your fiancé to get in the mood for dreamy engagement shots. Try to schedule your session so you aren’t both rushing there from work. If you can, take a day off and spent it together on a date. Nothing better than spending quality time with the person you love and feeling that, right before your shoot.

- Take some time and really familiarize yourself with your photographers work. Look through sessions on their site and try to picture yourself in those images. You can even go as far as to practice some of the poses. Oh, and it’s key that you both look through them together!

- Wear something you're comfortable in, something you know you like to see yourself in, and something like what you’d confidently wear on the weekends. Communicate your options with your photographer and feel free to bring options with you.

- Choose a location that means something to you or one that gets you excited. Your home, favorite neighborhood of the city, a getaway spot are all great options. Or maybe there is somewhere you’ve been wanting to visit together. Just make sure you aren’t just picking a place because it’s what everyone else does.

- Give yourself something to do, like an activity you both love to distract from any nervousness. Not all couples need this, but it certainly can help. Maybe you love skateboarding, painting, music, etc. Maybe you have a cool vintage car, motorcycle or who knows, even a sail boat.

- Plan to shoot when the light is best, usually closer to sunset for softer, flattering light.

- Let your guard down, have fun, and let your photographer guide you. This might be your first time as a couple in front of the camera and it’s easy to tighten up, but remember, your photographer only wants to create the best images for you, so feel confident in that.
