Our Civic teams are attending the SAFRE conference and are proud to support the important work of the NC fire service.

As proud supporters of fire service, we're so glad to be at the SAFRE Expo supporting the NC fire community. "I want to thank the fire service for believing and starting Civic Credit Union. ... The fire service will always be a part of the story that allowed local government to become an independent credit union."

The NC fire community knows a thing about high temperatures, and high stakes. Shoutout to our local fire service members, for the work they do to keep our communities safe year round.

On Thursday, July 18, NC State University held the 99th Graduation Ceremony for law enforcement officials graduating from their Administrative Officers Management Program (AOMP). Of the 24-graduates, four received a scholarship from Civic Local Foundation—the philanthropic giving arm of LGFCU and Civic Federal Credit Union. Through the scholarship program, the Town of Kenly was able to send their first officer to the program—Deputy Chief Preston Ford. Congratulations Preston, our other scholarship recipients, and the entire graduating class!

The work nonprofits do make such an impact in our local communities. We love their work so much that we have an entire grant program for them! Each quarter, we award multiple grants of up to $25,000 to NC nonprofits that meet certain criteria. Find out more at https://civiclf.org/grants

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, the federal holiday that celebrates the emancipation of the last group of America's slaves in Texas in 1865. At LGFCU, we stand together with all people and strive for a future of freedom and opportunity for each of us.

The Civic Local Foundation Scholarship is awarded to 25 students who are members of one of our supporting credit unions, Civic Federal Credit Union and Local Government Federal Credit Union. Recipients have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and been active in their communities and extracurricular activities. We wish each of our scholarship recipients the best on their continued pursuit of education! 🎓
