Our Story

eParamus® started with the idea that learning programs should improve business results in a clear and measurable way. We opened our doors in 2008 during the Great Recession and began the journey with our first customer, a training company. The client’s president was concerned that they were not retaining customers, and engaged eParamus® to improve both their effectiveness and customer retention.

Our investigation showed that although the customers “liked” the programs provided by the company and their prices were good, customers really did not know how effective the learning was and had no reason to specifically call them back when they had another learning need. In short, the training company did not provide a sense of partnership with their customers or show clear evidence of the value of the learning. This realization set the mission for eParamus®: to conceptualize how a training company (or training department) can create partnerships and show impact.

To begin, we listened to the managers, students, and company executives from their customer base. We learned what constituted evidence to each type of stakeholder. We looked at the learning programs offered and the ability of those programs to show impact. Through this treasured investigation, we conceptualized an evaluation model. We measured and evaluated programs for expected results at specific impact points expressed by the stakeholders, and identified means for improvement. This evaluation methodology became a core competency of eParamus®.

Over the next several years, with the help of our customers, we grew and learned a lot about what makes programs effective. We discovered that the way a program is designed is paramount in its ability to be measured and its ability to have an impact on an organization. This knowledge helped us to conceptualize the Measurable Instructional Design® (MID) process and to classify the steps necessary to ensure programs have the ability to improve performance as well as meet company goals. The combination of measurable training and the evaluation method became known as the ROI by Design® model.

Today the ROI by Design® model enables organizations and training companies to ensure training resulted in learning in the classroom, changes on the job, and impact to the organization.
