Sarah and her parents were back today forr 6 months follow-up doing very well after kyphoscoliosis surgery. Her Dad is a gifted photographer who gave me a gorgeous framed picture of my hand holding Sarah's hand after surgery. Took my breath away and brought a tear. Precious. Receiving a scoliosis diagnosis can raise a lot of questions. Jessie, one of our Schroth physical therapists shares how she not only works with patients on exercises that will help their curves, but believes in the importance of education so that patients can be in charge of their care.

We would like to thank all of our patients who donated to our Higgy Bear fund! Higgy Bears is a company that designs stuffed animals with scoliosis. The stuffed animals wear braces, sport surgery scars and even have rods from spinal fusion surgery lovingly sewn into their backs. These bears provide a great comfort and bring smiles to our adolescent patients.

Scoliosis Awareness Month is the perfect time to educate friends and family about scoliosis and available treatment options. We were excited to hear about one of our patients teaching his fellow classmates all about scoliosis and treatment options available for patients like him, including Schroth PT and bracing. Thanks for spreading the word!

June is Scoliosis Awareness Month.
Scoliosis affects millions of people in the U.S. but when caught early more treatment options are available! The Scoliosis Research Society says, "children can be screened at any age, but idiopathic scoliosis is most commonly discovered during a child's growth spurt (9-13 years old)."
Help us spread the word!

At Hey Clinic we know how important it is to create a true and meaningful partnership with our patients. We listen carefully to our patients, use a shared decision making model, and never stop looking for better ways to care for our patients.

Today, we'd like to recognize one of our amazing patients - Chloe! 👏 Chloe is 4 weeks post-op and doing well. We love when Chloe comes in for an appointment because she always has a smile on her face. Chloe looks forward to her appointments knowing she'll be seen by caring, compassionate medical assistants like Josh and her skilled Schroth physical therapist, Mariah.
