🎃 **STYLISTS** 🎃As hairstylists, we aren’t one size fits all. Finding your perfect stylist is like match-making in the haunted halls of hair.
You love their work, but not their vibe. 🧛♀️
You love their vibe, but their work doesn’t give you the chills you crave. 👻
It’s practically dating. And it can be stressful. 😱
Here are some spooky tips to help you find your perfect match:
✨ **Check out their socials** ✨
Since you’re reading this, you’re already on step one. Check out their work—do they have any styles you’d use as inspo for your own hair?
✉️ **Send a message** ✉️
Most of us can sense a vibe from first connections. Send your stylist a message inquiring about their work. Did they answer professionally? Did they seem nice or make you feel like a bother? I personally can’t stand just a yes or no answer. I want all the eerie details.
👩🏻❤️👩🏼 **Set up an in-person consultation** 👩🏻❤️👩🏼
Finally putting a face to the hair! Get a chance to talk to your stylist about all your hair dreams, nightmares, questions, and concerns. This gives you the opportunity to really feel out if you are comfortable with trusting this person with your hair.
If you’re looking for a new stylist, feel free to DM me! I’m here to help in any way.
And if you are already one of our lovely ladies or gentlemen, I appreciate you so much. I have some of the best clients in the world. 🌎💜

‼️PSA FROM YOUR LOCAL HAIRSTYLIST‼️
Hi everybody!
I just wanted to pop in to give everybody some hair tips for the summer! ☀️
Now that the weather is getting hot 🥵, a lot of us are wanting to go to the pool and even the beach 🏖️
There is a myth out there that saltwater is better than chlorinated water 💧
Unfortunately that’s NOT true when it comes to your hair. Both salt water and chlorinated water are bad for your hair and can cause it to be dry and frizzy or even turn green 💚
A lot of clients get Brazilian Blowouts or Keratin Treatments during the summer to help lock in their color and prevent frizziness, however, it can also loosen your curl a bit 👩🏻🦱
It is important to protect your hair in the summer before you go to the pool by doing things like wetting your hair with regular water and adding conditioner or cream to your hair before getting it wet in a chlorinated or saltwater pool or even the ocean 🌊
It’s also a good idea to seal in the conditioner or cream with a SPF hair product or products with UV protectant such as products 🌞
If you need any product recommendations, feel free to send me a message and I would love to help 🌹
It is popular to go lighter during the summer, but remember having highlighted hair comes with more responsibilities so make sure to protect your hair from the sun with a hat or some type of head covering to prevent your hair from heat and sun damage which could cause yellow, brassy blonde or even breakage 🧢👒🎩🎓🪖⛑️
You can even add a heat protectant that is made for hot tools. Even though the heat protectant is made for hot tools, it can also protect your hair from the sun as well 🔥
I realize it’s getting very hot and we want to all put our hair back but when pulling your hair back, we need to not be using hair ties. Instead we should throw it back to the 80s and 90s with a good old fashion scrunchie or those hair ties that look like telephone cords. Those are NOT causing breakage the way the thin hair ties are 🦄
To my curly girls out there, humidity can either be our best friend or our worst enemy. Since people love the humidity because it gives their curls lots of body and volume and some people dislike the humidity because it gives them lots of frizz. Use the humidity to your advantage and style your hair in a way that embraces what your hair wants to do when it’s humid outside instead of fighting against it 💆🏻♀️
Moisture is a curly girls best friend and the pool will dry out your curls. Make sure to have a curl cream in your hair and to wet your hair before you get into the pool/ocean so that your curls don’t dry out from the pool or ocean water. After the summer is over and you stop going to the pool or the beach, be ready to schedule a hydrating session with your local hairstylist so you can make sure your curls maintain their lucious shine especially after summer in North Carolina! 🧖🏻♀️
All my peoples out there with vivid hair color… remember that sometimes people will USE salt water to remove vivid hair colors from the hair and the longer that your hair is wet, the faster the color will fade so keeping your hair as dry as possible and protected with the right products is very important 🌈
Also, if you have colors like pink and red, the green tint from the pool will counteract those colors and cause them to fade immensely or even become muddy 🤮
If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or send me a message and I would love to help you out 💜
This is just my public safety announcement as your local hairstylist 💁🏻♀️
I wish you the best and most happiest summer yet! 😎☀️🌞👙🍉👗🩲
Happy Summerween! 🎃👻

SUMMER PSA: SUNSCREEN AND SUNLESS TANNER WILL AFFECT YOUR EXTENSIONS & BLONDE HAIR COLOR‼️⤵️
👉🏻 HAIR EXTENSIONS — avobenzone & octocrylene will and I quote LITERALLY turn your beautiful blonde extensions to a pinkish, orange hue and this sometimes is irreversible. Try one of the following brands that are free of these ingredients such as or sunscreens ☀️
👉🏻 SUNLESS TANNER — blonde hair is porous as we all know so avoid getting your tanner in your hair or around the hairline as it can stain your hair leaving you with an undesirable gold tone that may or may not fade away
👉🏻 HAIR COLOR — the sun is harsh on the hair, especially those of you with blonde hair. Not only can it be drying, but it can strip out your toners and quite literally “tan” your blonde. Be sure you are using products with UV Protectant all the time but especially during the summer before spending time in the sun. My personal favorite is ✨
⚠️ PRO TIP: always have a detox or clarifying shampoo such as reNeu by to wash your hair with if you should find yourself in this situation! It’s NOT a complete fix, but it will help cleanse build-up off of your blonde if you can’t get into your stylist right away!

🎃 **Dare to Care for Your Hair** 🎃
👻 You wear it every day, so INVEST in your hair! 🕸️
🔮 Here are some hair care routine tips to keep your hair and scalp enchantingly healthy this summer and every season:
1️⃣ WASH AWAY THE GHOULS — Use a gentle shampoo tailored for YOUR hair type to banish dirt and oil buildup.
2️⃣ CONDITION WITH CARE — ALWAYS follow up with a conditioner after shampooing to keep your hair hydrated and smooth as a specter.
3️⃣ FEAR THE HEAT — Minimize the use of blow dryers, curling irons, and flat irons to prevent heat damage that could haunt your hair.
4️⃣ SHIELD FROM HEAT — When you must use heat styling tools, apply a heat protectant to guard your hair against the fiery elements.
5️⃣ GENTLE TANGLES — Use a wide-tooth comb or a wet brush to gently detangle your hair, like a ghost gliding through the night.
6️⃣ TRIM THE ENDS — Get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to ward off split ends and maintain healthy hair growth.
7️⃣ DEEP CONDITIONING MAGIC — Use a deep conditioning mask or treatment once a week to nourish and strengthen your hair with mystical power.
8️⃣ LOOSEN UP — Avoid tight ponytails or braids that can cause breakage and stress, leaving your hair free and wild like a spirit.
9️⃣ EAT TO ENCHANT — Maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, especially vitamins A, C, D, and E, as well as biotin to keep your hair as lively as a haunted forest (remember all vitamins are important!).
🔟 STAY HYDRATED — Drink plenty of water to keep your hair hydrated from the inside out, like a bubbling cauldron.
1️⃣1️⃣ SUN SPELL PROTECTION — Wear a hat or use hair products with UV protection when exposed to the sun for extended periods, casting a protective spell over your hair.
1️⃣2️⃣ CHEMICAL CAUTION — Avoid excessive chemical treatments like perming, relaxing, or coloring to prevent your hair from turning into a frightful mess.
1️⃣3️⃣ SOFT SLUMBER — Sleep on satin or silk pillowcases to reduce friction and prevent breakage, ensuring your hair wakes up as smooth as a phantom.
1️⃣4️⃣ WASH WISELY — Don’t wash your hair too frequently, no more than 1-2 times per week, to keep its natural oils intact like a hidden treasure.
1️⃣5️⃣ SPOOKY SCALP CARE — Massage your scalp regularly to stimulate blood circulation and promote hair growth, keeping your locks eerily luscious.
💀 Treat your hair with these enchanted tips, and watch it transform into a thing of eerie beauty! 🕸️

Do you remember this post that I made over 2 years ago? Well it’s back and this time with updated costs and pricing.
Why is it back? Because there are clients that cannot understand why hairstylists are charging what they are charging so I would like to shed some light on what us hairstylists are ALSO dealing with in today’s economy with inflation.
This is an investment breakdown for getting your hair colored/cut by me or any stylist (prices may vary depending on which product lines your stylist uses)
So let’s talk about PRODUCT COSTS:
Every single day there are new techniques that come out into the beauty industry that require A LOT of product… even if it’s just on one head of hair! For just ONE client, I tend to use about 1-3 bowls of bleach/lightener, 1-4 different developers, 1-10 different colors/toners, a TON of foil, as well as other hair products and tool essentials depending on hair goals, length, density, and type of hair I am working with.
With the beauty industry constantly evolving, there are always new and improved products or techniques coming out… so we are continuously investing in our craft to better our services and stay up to date on trends.
I spend $100s to $1000s PER MONTH because I choose to use the best and most updated products for my clients. YES! There ARE cheaper professional product options that I COULD use for my clients instead, but for one… they aren’t that much cheaper and 2… I choose the higher-end products that have amazing reputation because QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!
MOST stylists price themselves based on their supply and demand. If a particular stylist doesn’t fit within your budget, that is OKAY! What’s NOT OKAY is bashing a stylist or salon out because they charge what they charge!
There are SO MANY amazing and talented stylists with different price ranges for EVERYONE’S budget! 💜🖤💜
✨ Please keep in mind the costs that us hair professionals have. I personally use higher quality products because I want to protect the integrity of your hair and provide you with a luxury service
✨ These are why my prices are what they are because I need to turn a profit to make a living, just like YOU! 🖤
✨ Prices differ from stylist to stylist, but this is what it currently costs me to do hair! (Especially with the inflation of all of our costs 🙃)
✨ These expenses DON’T include everything I’ve invested in myself to keep my business going:
• first 2 years I assisted to gain knowledge — I made little money
• back bar products — shampoo, conditioner, heat protectants, bond builders, etc
• website
• camera
• mannequin heads to practice new techniques
• sanitation products
• food and beverages for clients
• phone bill
• business insurance
• marketing/pos system
The list could literally go on and on…
❗️❗️❗️ADDITIONAL EXPENSES❗️❗️❗️
Expenses that come with being an independent stylist include: salon insurance, salon/booth rent (this price will depend on the city/state you are in… can be more/less expensive), continued education, licensing fees, booking websites, marketing, taxes (can be VERY expensive especially if you’re a Sole Proprietor…). We also have to take care of our own retirement, sick/vacation pay, life insurance, health insurance, disability insurance, etc.

The short answer is NO! lolAll jokes aside, Happy Tuesday and Happy Pride Month ✨🌈
I am a big Amazon girlie but I would NEVER buy my haircare or beauty products from there. Just hear me out ⤵️
Obviously I’m going to tell you to support your stylist — You run the risk of purchasing counterfeit, old, or diluted products from third party sellers if you buy from Amazon. You might have experienced this or have heard of this happening to someone you know ⤵️
As your stylist, we know your hair. We recommend products we have used and know works. Products that are custom to YOU! Of course we get a kick back, but we tell you what to use because WE CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR. It makes our job easier in the long run 🫶🏻
I have had clients send me products they are interested in getting that the salon doesn’t have… maybe they’ve seen their favorite influencer using something or it has 5 stars on Sephora. I’m open to this, but send the products to see what they suggest 🙌🏻
✨ I’m not saying all products on Amazon are fake and if you like the convenience of it — I understand. Just do your research. Shop from a stylists store front or use affiliate links. I personally LOVE trying new products and I’m always honest with what works.
🧴 What’s cool about is we have which works directly with professional brands and their distributors to ensure the quality and authenticity of all products while adding in the convenience factor for YOU! ⤵️
— It’s our online store front! Every product we sell in house and then some is on that site! Click the link in our BIO to shop. Reach out with any questions —
➡️ This post isn’t supposed to be scary or mean. We just wanna educate and share our thoughts! We love you guys!! 👏🏻💜
Here’s your friendly reminder that…Your hair appointment may be “fun money” in your households budget
But it’s our paycheck
So please respect your service providers cancellation policies, time, and prices (this goes for hair stylists, nail techs, estheticians, and beauty professionals as a whole)
__
Here’s a scenario to help explain ⤵️
What if you showed up to your every day job expecting to get paid a certain amount… to then be told you’re only going to receive half? 😕
I totally understand having emergencies and things that come up that are completely out of your control. That being said, a lot of stylists DO NOT get paid an hourly wage. We get paid when we do a service to your hair. If we don’t work, we don’t get paid.
So when a client cancels last minute or no call-no shows, it doesn’t only waste our time, but we lose out on money that we could have had by filing the slot you left empty. 😅
Unfortunately we still have bills to pay like everyone else. 🙃
For this exact reason, we have cancellation/no call-no show fees to protect ourselves from uncomfortable situations. 💜🖤
Save and Share to remember this important information!

A 'hair-raising' transformation took place in our salon today! One brave client decided to chop her locks, not for a Halloween bob, but to donate to the enchanting cause of Wigs for Kids. This spook-tacular organization works its magic by creating real-hair wigs for mini superheroes battling cancer and other illnesses.
The process is simple yet powerful - donating a minimum of 12 inches of hair, which is then woven into a beautiful, durable wig, designed to withstand the most epic of pillow fights and playground adventures.
It's not just about hair; it's about restoring self-esteem, confidence, and a touch of normalcy to these brave young warriors.

✈️🌴T•R•A•V•E•L A•D•V•I•S•O•R🌴✈️I think a lot of people misunderstand what I do as a Travel Advisor, Travel Agent, or Travel Planner (whichever one you call it)
✅Yes, I quote and secure your vacations.
✅Yes, I make personalized itineraries and plans for you and your family/party!
✅Yes, this costs you $0 more than booking on your own.
✅Yes, I do this on the side while also maintaining my hair salon to keep your beauty needs met!
What I don’t do is get paid if you don’t book with me!
I am not paid an hourly or salary wage.
I am only paid commission on trips I book, and only after you return home from traveling.
That Cruise you booked, the All-inclusive resort stay, that Beach vacation or Disney and Universal that you booked on your own…..
I could have booked it for the same price and in return you would have helped me build my business.
➡️ AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU!
💥 When you book your own trips- then reach out with questions, concerns or request ideas
(I don’t get paid for that — so if time allows I will always try to give advice, but keep me in mind for your next trip)
The cost of my commission is already included in the cost you pay, whether you use an advisor or not.
🤔 Why pay for a service you aren’t receiving?
🫶Please consider always using me as your Travel Advisor for your next trip. (Especially if it’s for Disney or Universal)

Did I mention I worked for the Disneyland Resort for 2 1/2 years? So all of my knowledge is extremely unique and I’ve got a whole lot of it to share with YOU from did you knows to help navigating the Disney Parks and Resorts!
VIVID COLOR TIPS FOR CLIENTS1. Avoid over washing your hair! I always recommend limiting wash days to no more than 2x a week!
2. Avoid HOT water! Hot water will expand the cuticle of your hair and cause the color to bleed out!
3. Avoid salt water AND chlorine! These minerals within the water can and WILL strip your color right out!
4. Utilize a heat protectant when using hot tools (flat irons, curling irons, etc.) and DON’T FORGET to keep your hot tools on a lower heat setting!
5. DO NOT expect them to last for months on end! Vivid colors are semi-permanent colors and WILL fade faster or slower depending on your aftercare regimen at home!
6. Use a color safe, silicone free, and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner on wash days!
7. Invest in a filtration system for your shower head to help filter out the hard water minerals that can and WILL negatively affect ALL hair colors!

Let’s talk washing 🫧
Washing your hair correctly is so important when it comes to your hair and scalp health.
Refer to the tips above for the best results on cleanliness and overall health!
Pro-Tip: It is recommended that you only wash your hair 1-2 times per week for maximum hair health and longevity of your hair color. This also helps to ensure your hair doesn’t get dry, brittle, or dull.

Would you pay that much for hair and makeup? They must be INSANE, right!? 😂
Every clients priorities are always going to differ. Some value photography as their number one. For some, it may mean spending more on your gown, rather than florals. Maybe hiring a wedding planner so you can delegate everything to someone else. It might mean having an intimate ceremony, so you can have a great after party. Or skipping the entire traditional wedding thing to elope and go on a badass trip together.
But to some, hair and makeup looking BOMB af on your most photographed day of your life is a BIG priority. And if that’s you — HI, let’s be friends! 💜👋🏻
I think hair and makeup can easily be forgotten about, until your number 1 choice is no longer available 🫤

Do you remember my last two posts about Amika and Redken? Well here’s another one you won’t want to believe.Schwarzkopf’s Blondme Shampoo and Conditioner… SAY WHAT!? Yep! It’s true!
Here’s my question to YOU… Can you spot the differences?
I cannot stress enough the importance of shopping small, supporting your local small business salons and hairstylists, as well as realizing that you are NOT getting the same product even though it may look like it from a big box retailer as you are the salon.
As long as I continued to find professional name brand products in stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall’s, big box retailers, grocery stores, and pharmacies alike, I will continue to give you comparisons so that you as the consumer continue to understand how different these products actually are and how even though you may think your saving money, your actually spending more at the end of the day because your purchasing the products from these stores, realizing they don’t work, and then turn around and finally buy the real thing from your stylist when you could just purchase from your stylist at the very beginning.
In the next 4 slides, there is a comparison of a shampoo that is sold in CosmoProf, AUTHORIZED salons, and through distributors such as Paramount Beauty and the same name shampoo at TJ Maxx. The ingredients and labels are completely different… especially on the back of the bottle! Some ingredients are substituted and some are not there at all.

Lighting makes all the difference!
Same hair, Same iPhone camera, taken minutes apart
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is crazy and just proves what different light and angles can do to hair color! Both on the exact same day after I colored and styled my clients hair.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When capturing your client’s hair, lighting can make or break the shot! Natural light enhances dimension and texture, overhead lighting can flatten and wash out color, while direct sunlight creates depth and warmth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Understanding the impact of different lighting conditions can elevate your hair photography game and showcase your client’s locks in the best possible way!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lighting CANNOT be trusted! The left photo was natural lighting that was coming in from my windows and the right photo was my overhead lighting with my shades down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Clients, this is why you may be obsessed with your hair in the salon but go in your bathroom at home and feel like it looks completely different or maybe it feels too dark in the salon and the tone is off but when you get in your car, you take a selfie and it looks absolutely perfect!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No matter how hard you try, it’s impossible to make hair look the exact same in different lighting 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This clients hair looked most like the left photo in real life, but maybe if she sends me a photo taken in her bathroom at home, it will look like the other photo. It’s just one of those hard truths that hairstylists (and clients) have to learn to accept. 💜

These are just a few tips that can really help you and your stylist achieve your desired hair goals ✨💜🌒 Have inspo photos on hand: having a reference/inspo photo at your appointment can really allow the stylist to picture what you are looking for and what you aren’t looking for! This also makes it a lot easier for you to explain your hair goals 😊
🌒 Come with clean, dry hair: having clean hair at the start of your appointment allows your stylist to see and feel your hairs natural texture, volume, and the condition or integrity of your hair! It also can allow color to pe*****te the hair cuticle evenly, giving you a more blended color. Oils, dirt, and product buildup can create barriers that affect the end result
🌒 Be open to stylists suggestions: Your stylist is there to help you! If you are unsure of what you are looking for or exactly what you are wanting, let your stylist give you some ideas. It’s also important to make sure your stylist is confident and passionate in the skills they need for the specific style you want ✨
🌒 Don’t wear bulky clothes: clothes like hoodies or turtle necks can make cutting hair more difficult and it is also a possibility that your stylist may get color on them! We will always do our best to protect your clothes, but sometimes accidents can happen!
Hope these help! 💜🖤
