Last week VAE had the honor and privilege to participate in the Raleigh Roam Around, held in conjunction with the LEAD conference. We had an amazing time learning more about accessibility and hosting the opening reception for Merge. As champions of accessibility, equity, and inclusion, attending the LEAD conference is an important part of our efforts to support our creative community.
We have so much gratitude for the for allowing us to host Merge and to for offering incredible support and allowing us to partner with them! A big thank you to everyone who came out!

Join us this Thursday evening from 6-8pm as we celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition, MERGE!

MERGE comes to Raleigh from the and will be on view through October 27th.

About MERGE: “VAE Raleigh is pleased to present the 2021 VSA Emerging Young Artists Competition, exhibition, a Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disability Program of the Kennedy Center. The program drew submissions from talented young artists with disabilities, ages 16-25, from around the United States. This year’s theme, MERGE, explores uniting paths and asks what we can learn when it all comes together. The call invited artists to consider the intersections and combinations of their creative process and disability identity. In art, the juxtaposition of ideas can blur distinctions or reveal something new.”
