Autumn in North Carolina is usually such a vibrant and beautiful time of year, so it's been heartbreaking to watch the devastation that Hurricane Helene has caused in Western NC. We are overwhelmed by the lives lost, the unfathomable struggles of people whose homes and businesses were affected, and our fellow universities and artist communities who are reeling.
There are many ways to help, and we've put links below for a few disaster relief funds, as well as resources for the Wolfpack community. Here's hoping this fall brings everyone something to smile about. ❤️🩹

PUBSHOT: Lindsey Neely (Luke Moran) learns that surprising Ed Thomas (Jacen Yabroff), a first-year student at Charleston State Technical University and undisclosed Vietnam vet, can have unexpected consequences.
It’s autumn 1969 and a Charleston State Technical University journalism student decides to out campus fiscal mismanagement to the media. In the tumultuous academic year that follows, students and faculty wrestle not only with the challenges of the Vietnam War, the draft, the Kent State Massacre, but their own with the ethics of research, relationships, and obligations to themselves and their community.
Hamilton says, “Teletype was foundationally inspired by the 2022-2023 academic year at NC State, with many tragedies that weighed heavy on students, and the institutional response that was found lacking.” It is set in the 1969-1970 academic year due to the divisive nature of the times and challenges of the day.

We are thrilled to congratulate our recently retired colleague and friend, Mark Tulbert , on receiving the prestigious Raleigh Medal of Arts! 🎨🏆 We also extend our warmest congratulations to all the other Raleigh Medal of Arts winners, many of whom have been part of our extended arts family over the years.
Mark dedicated over 30 remarkable years to bringing the arts to our community through marketing, arts presenting, and fundraising. As he beautifully puts it, "I’ve spent most of my career planning, promoting, and connecting the extraordinary work of vibrant visual and performing arts programs at NC State, finding joy in telling the stories that demonstrate the value of the arts inside a major STEM-focused public research university."
His tireless efforts in making the arts more accessible have touched countless lives, and his unwavering support for performances and exhibitions has left a lasting impact on NC State, Raleigh, and the state of North Carolina.
Congratulations, Mark! Your dedication and passion for the arts have truly made a difference. 🌟👏
