This Monday, April 8th, get ready for a celestial spectacle! A total solar eclipse will be gracing North America, with New York experiencing a peak of 100% coverage at 3:20 PM.

Here's a quick rundown:

A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes directly between the sun and Earth, blocking the sun's light for a brief period.
During totality (peak coverage), the sky will darken dramatically, and you might even see stars emerge!
Important Safety Note: Looking directly at the sun, even during an eclipse, can permanently damage your eyes. ⚠️ Never look at the sun without specially designed solar eclipse glasses. ⚠️

Here are some ways to safely enjoy the eclipse:

-Make a pinhole projector to create an indirect image of the eclipse.
-Watch a live stream from a reputable source like NASA.
-Check out the campus quad for a viewing event with proper safety measures!
