BTW, membership not only for SoCal residents and membership not a requirement to attend the event... 😉

Ok folks, the Apple Thistle Music Fest in only two weeks away, Sat. Sept. 23. It's a completely free event. Our entertainers are in place and it runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Snow-Line Orchard, 39400 Oak Glen Rd. in the mountains east of Yucaipa. Throw a lawn chair in the trunk as the wood benches might be full. Our tent will be there to answer questions, and pass out applications for our society. Hope to see you there!

It's been a long time since the band has competed at the World Pipe Band Championships (10 years?), so we are even more excited they qualified!

Festivities start tomorrow (in the middle of the night for us on this side of the pond), but the Blandford band competes on Saturday. Sadly, their competition will not be streamed.

The band's adventures continue! Makes you wish you were there with them, doesn't it?

The band is having an amazing time in Glasgow. Today, we performed in George Square and on the steps of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. What an honor! We were also given a piping clinic by the phenomenal, Bruce Gandy. Finally, we attended the Shott's pre-Worlds concert.

In case you're wondering what the band's up to.

We had another great rehearsal. It was a little windy but no rain while we practiced. We are still missing 3 pipers and 1 bass drum! Bridge of Allan contest is tomorrow. We will be going against 18 AMAZING bands. We will do our best to play with class. We also have our drum majors competing tomorrow.

We're honored to support Rancho Cucamonga Fire Pipes and Drums by displaying their band merchandise in the shop. Please stop by, make a donation, and pick up a token of appreciation!

Some of the band members have already left for Scotland... the rest leave tomorrow. World Pipe Band Championships - here they come!

The best part of being home and putting the shop back together today? Receiving a shipment of candy! We'll be reopening Friday at 10am... just in case you want to stop by and pick up a pack of Maltesers. 😉
