A late post, but a GREAT post! On Thursday last week, we had the honor and privilege to welcome Alta Loma Junior High’s newest Warriors, our inaugural group, the VERY FIRST group of 6th graders to ever attend Glimpse at THE Alta Loma Junior High! 💙💥 It was powerful, truly an amazing moment. In addition to our 6th grade students, our group of 6th grade teachers joined in on the fun, getting to know our students and school. This was a monumental moment in ALJH & ALSD history. We are excited to begin this journey and have our newest Warriors join us and we look forward to welcoming them on campus in the fall. It’s going to be great!

2024 Glimpse of Junior High Program for incoming 7th graders was a success the last two days! This program is so important to help ease the transition from elementary to junior high school while getting students excited about all that Junior High has to offer. Led by ALJH teachers and our own team, this program utilizes fun, interactive activities and learning opportunities to acclimate students to our campus, student community, policies, and procedures prior to the first day of school. 6th grade, you’re up tomorrow. We can’t wait!

Students and staff alike had a great time celebrating our 8th grade class with an end of the year trip to Universal Studios. Hard to believe we just have a few more short days. But even so…

Friday also provided us the privilege of recognizing outstanding former Warriors as the recipients of this year’s PTSA Alumni Scholarship. Congratulations, Ruby and Megan! We can’t wait to hear about your future endeavors!

On Friday we honored our last round of Warriors of the Trimester for the 2023-2024 school year. Congratulations to these outstanding students who exemplified throughout Trimester 3!

7th grade families, you’re up! We need cookies donated for promotion. It’s a nice tradition to provide a treat for outgoing students and families that will be done for you next year! It’s commUNITY. Please drop-off in the office starting on Monday.

Yesterday we had the privilege of honoring over 300 students who have dedicated themselves to academic excellence, exemplary citizenship, and consistency in exhibiting . We are so incredibly proud of ALL of our students and the hard work they have put in this school year. Congratulations to our recipients—well done, Warriors!

GATE/Honors students explored the physics of roller coasters, delving into lift hills, hydraulics, and free fall. They studied forces, friction, and kinetic energy, comparing skid brakes to permanent magnets for creating a magnetic field. Students also learned about g-forces, weightlessness, and the history of roller coasters, understanding how engineers tackled early safety challenges. They even got hands-on with measuring g-force and acceleration through physics apps. 🎢✨

While we didn’t get to take a picture in all the rooms, we definitely got to all of them at our Warrior PRIDE Night. Thank you Associate Superintendent Hart, Director Cerecerez, and Board Trustee Hurley for spending time in each of our rooms, talking to teachers, parents, and students.

What a competition it was this morning at Vineyard Junior High as our champion 7th and champion 8th grade teams engaged in the cross-town scholarship bowl championship! Although 7th grade battled hard, they were defeated. 8th grade, however, cruised to the victory redeeming themselves after last year’s heartbreak. Congratulations to all contestants who participated in this fun tradition! The best part, they all celebrated with a meal at Upland!

At tonight’s Board Meeting we honored the amazing ambassadors and integral partners within our school’s PTSA () and School Site Council. Both groups are committed to providing students with the best possible environment and educational experiences and we are sincerely grateful.

Traditions are fun and on Friday we held our annual Scholarship Bowl. We saw countless numbers of students who were so excited and enthusiastic about showing off their knowledge! The staff was blown away by our Warriors! Congratulations to our winning teams!
