Let’s wish our boy Kimoni success, as he competed this weekend in Tijuana, Mexico with our CA State Team. Let’s go!
Congratulations to our student Kimoni for making the state team (still a color belt fighting as black). Proud of him. Let’s Go!!!
Can’t wait for opening day tomorrow! Reppin the great 98 and in Korea. What country will we find #98 next? Last one was in France. 🤔 🏈🥋
Congratulations to Bella on her first of many to come sparring sessions! 👏👏🥋
Well, August was an extremely busy month for ! It began with our annual beach party followed by the Ca Challenge tournament and a Olympic TKD watch party. We ended with us traveling to Korea to compete at the where master Kayla brought home the bronze 🥉and as soon as we got home, we took a small team and went to Arizona to compete at the Grand Phoenix Open. There our team came home with 2 gold 🥇and 2 bronze 🥉. We ended the month our color belt test. This month will be a little a lighter but still competing. We thank our lord for all our blessings and we continue to move forward. Thank you to everyone who supports us.
Time for yet another tournament. This time the Grand Phoenix Open in Arizona. Let’s finish August strong!
Throw back to last month coaching my daughter .tkd in Europe and repping my current favorite athlete of any sport ! He’s a beast! He’s built in the mold of my all time favorite Kobie Bryant. I plan to take my “98” to all our international competitions that I coach to remind us what it takes to be great and to share this great athlete’s determination to be great! Next up Korea!
We are back for a day from international competition and we hop back on a plane to Texas for US Nationals! Congratulations to .tkd for bouncing back from Luxembourg and making it to the finals to earn silver in France! Unfortunately in Luxembourg, we ran into some misfortunes that were beyond our control and her performance suffered for it, but she recovered for the Solidarity Center G1 event in Montargis, France which was a well run event. Fighting in Europe, has taught us a lot about the European fighters, whom have the advantage of competing a lot because of the ease to travel from one competition to the next. Not to mention, they have several events to choose from and improve their game. Looking forward for competing more in Europe & Asia too. We are proud Kayla’s perseverance and happy for her. We are also very grateful and blessed to make friends from people around the world and to have these opportunities to travel. Thanks to our Lord & savior and , , and for those that support us! It takes a village to keep us going and we couldn’t do it without you!
Last week, we had our school training/picnic. It was a blast and great bonding! Thank you to all who were able to came out. See you all at our next event!
May all you blessed fathers out there have a blessed day with your children. 🙏
All weighed in. Time to fuel up. Fight day tomorrow. Let’s go! 💪 🇺🇸
NO CLASSES TODAY. We honor & remember those that gave their lives for freedom.
Happy Mother’s Day to all our amazing moms! May your day be blessed with much love and joy! ❤️
We had a good cross training event today. Thanks to Arise Taekwondo & ATI for coming out to cross train with us. Everyone did a great job and I see a bright future for these Taekwondo athletes! Until our next event, keep working!
It’s a wrap! Goodbye Tallinn, Estonia, it was a memorable experience. What a well run event too. We had our 3rd quarterfinal finish in a row (Presidents Cup Pan America G2, Tallinn Open G1, Presidents Cup Europe G2) and the podium just within our reach, again! Heartbreakers all, but we learned & move on to next. At the Presidents Cup Europe, Ms Kayla repped us well with a couple of point gaps between the Tallinn Open G1 and the Presidents Cup G2. At the Presidents Cup Europe, our quarterfinal match was against the reining 2x World Champion and 2024 Olympian to Paris from Croatia, Lena Stojkovic, who went on to win gold. What a great learning experience going against the worlds best. To be the best you have to beat the best, but first learn from the best and we did. After that long layoff from competition, Ms Kayla is improving every time she steps on the mat, especially at top level events. She is no doubt getting closer to being a top player in the world, herself. She will once again move up in international ranking points. The year hasn’t begun, as we hoped with hardware, but remember, it’s not how you start, but how you finish and we will finish strong! Thank you everyone for your support and God for the blessings.
Tallinn Open G1 complete. We just missed the podium with another quarterfinal finish! Grateful to have still earned more points to move up in ranking again. Task isn’t over. All weighed in once again for another opportunity to compete, but this time it’s the WT Presidents Cup Europe G2. We are grateful to God for these blessings to compete. We are also the only USA athletes here, so LET’S GO! 💪🇺🇸 presidentscup2024🥋
With back to back state qualifiers for US Nationals complete, we have qualified most of our team members. We have only 2 remaining to qualify. We were blessed to have 2 silver from California (small team) and we came back from Nevada with 5 gold, & 5 silver. We are so proud of this up and coming team. With over 70% of our team being totally new to competing, we have 3 new black belts that never competed, as black belts and it’s their first season competing at any belt level! We also have 3 black belts that are actually color belts 2 being really green belts! Master Kayla is the only seasoned black belt. With more mat time & experience, this new team is going to be a force and win or lose I’m grateful for their trust and loyalty to themselves and us. Still a lot of work to do, so let’s enjoy the process and we give thanks to our Lord & savior for the opportunity.
We are back from the WT Presidents Cup-Pan Am region in Costa Rica. Master. Kayla & Ms Makenzie competed for an opportunity to earn a wild card spot for the Pan Am Championships in May. We fell short but earned more points & what we need to improve. It was very close for master Kayla. She made it to quarterfinals by beating the Pan Am games bronze medalist, but fell short to the eventual gold medalist by only 1 point combined in both rounds! We felt strongly that if Kayla beat her, she could have won gold which would’ve qualified her for the Pan Am Championships. Ms Makenzie had a good match but unfortunately lost. She is still working on finding her timing and getting that ring management back. I have no doubt It will come together for her soon and she’ll be back to form. Shout out to our good friend Ana Zolotic for a back to back dominating performance, as she qualified for the Pan Am Championships! Next up, Europe.

Friday Flashback to last weekend. Some of our black belts competed at the US Open. This is the largest tournament in the USA and one of the biggest in the world. We are proud of our recently promoted black belts Liam and Aden Vea. They took on this challenge and had the courage to compete for their first time ever, as black belts and at such a prestigious event of high caliber athletes. They did not medal but gained much valuable experience and learned what it must take to succeed at this level. This event also brought back 2 of our formally top ranked national competitors, Ms LoRalie & Ms Makenzie. Ms. LoRalie, a former US National Team member and like her sister fought in her first tournament back after 4 years away from Taekwondo. She fought a close match but came up fell to Canada. We know she’ll be back to form in no time. Ms Makenzie, in her 2nd competition back, made it to the quarterfinals and lost in a closely contested match against the eventual gold medalist. She’s getting closer to form. Ms Kayla, in her 2nd tournament back from injury won her first match, but fell in the round of 16. Congratulations to Ana on winning gold. She was a beast! Meet her at our Camp next week! Happy again for everyone that competed. Season has begun and it’s not how we start but how we finish! Next up, Arizona qualifier.
