In 2019, I shouted out the real estate team
I said inside tips to them can be fairly lean
Because it’s not often that you buy a new home, right?
And while the experience was great, I was glad to sit tight.
Then life changed as we blended and needed more space
And here we were again looking to find our place!

For six months, Jay and I looked at houses galore
All over Monmouth we probably saw 50 or more
We lost several deals throughout this real estate craze
What people were willing to pay left us amazed.
We saw some duds and deals that happened too fast
But after all that, found our home sweet home at last.
So thanks to Sue Heckman for fielding my early morning texts and calls
For not letting on when I was driving her up the walls.
For the beautiful job in selling my house
And talking me down when the seller was a louse.
For orchestrating the home swap, a realtor’s holy grail
But something that’s complicated and not for the frail.
For the gentle reminders that we’d end up where we were meant to be,
And that when we settled into the new house, all those worries would flee.
For helping me through negotiations and all the rest
As far as realtors go, you’re one of the best.

Once our home was just within reach,
Enter mortgage banker extraordinaire, Mr. Evan Beach
Now he was on the receiving end of my texts and calls
He patiently and knowledgeably answered them all
And thanks for the lock, a rate under 3…
Holy cow, this loan is practically free!
Can we close in a six weeks, we dared to ask
Evan and his team are excellent and were up to the task

We made an offer and had a deal
Here comes Joe Asterita to make it real
The deal was tricky with this crazy home swap
But thanks to Joe it didn’t flop
One thing I can tell you and not just to flatter
This experience reminded me that who you work with really does matter.
The negotiations and closing went well with Joe by our side
And man did he squash it when that seller lied!
The guy was truly a pain in the ass
But Joe handled it and now we are cooking with gas!

Then enter Tom Santry to get the lay of the land
To the closing we went with his survey in hand.
It’s beautiful and thorough and will be a great tool
If we ever can get someone to come put in a new pool!

So the deal is happening, what do we do?
Time to protect my real estate with you know who.
Enter Matt Cohen for title insurance and several services I can’t label
But he brought us peace of mind, and another friendly face at the virtual closing table!

But title insurance is just the start
Off to Aaron Levine to play his part
Another case where who you work with does matter
His quote was higher than another but he walked us through the latter
In reality, the coverage was so much better to protect our assets and home
And if something goes wrong, I have a friend I can phone.
The peace of mind is worth paying a few extra bucks
And if the worst happens, I have someone to call who might actually give a ___

I can’t forget Kevin Muldowney for having my returns in good form
Accuracy, thoroughness and accessibility are thankfully their norm.
Oh and a plea to turn 2020’s return around in a flash
b/c let’s be honest, we want a pool and we need the cash!

And there’s always Matt Williams, to take care of my HVAC fall, winter, summer and spring
Thanks for keeping the house comfortable no matter what the weather brings
I love that I have someone I can trust
Who also protects me from germs and dust
And for those new Remi Halos I cannot wait
I can feel the clean air as we get closer to that date!

And last but not least
Thanks to Cathy Gonsalves for helping to reducing all of the stress
From massages to oils and even our chats, you’re truly the best at helping me to decompress

The moral of the story is when you join LeTip of Red Bank
It’s not all about the business you received or the coffee you drank
It’s also having relationships with the best of the best
And in this case, a dream team when building our nest!
