Caltrans and the community of Greenville celebrated the completion of the Greenville Landscaping Project at the intersection of State Route 89 and Pine Street on Saturday. Newly installed irrigation and landscaping along State Route 89 has brought life back into downtown Greenville after being devastated by the Dixie Fire in 2021.

Caltrans District 2 Director Dave Moore issued a Director’s Order in 2021 to make rebuilding Greenville a priority by initiating emergency work sooner than the normal contract approval process. Several current and future projects in the area are doing just that!

“It has been truly inspiring to witness Greenville come together in the wake of the Dixie Fire,” said Moore. “The Greenville Landscaping Project brings more color and life to the streets of Greenville by replacing some of the trees and plants that were list.”
