Shasta Composite Squadron 126 - Civil Air Patrol

Congratulations to our Seniors and Cadets at our latest promotion ceremony held during our 5th Thursday family potluck. Well done!

Cadets participated in O-rides a few weeks ago. An O-ride is an orientation ride for Cadets to experience the thrill of flight.

Wondering what we do at the Civil Air Patrol? You're invited to come out to our Open House this Thursday, August 31 art 6pm. Fun STEM activities and info sessions for adults and teens. See flyer for details.

Our Cadets began their “30 Days Lost in Space” mission last night. We started out learning the basics of circuits with Snap Circuits, then moved on to coding to control the “spacecraft” circuits.

Squadron 126 hosted a SAREX this weekend. Thank you to everyone that came and participated.

Cadets and Seniors are selling tickets to the play, The Fall of the House of Usher at Riverfront Playhouse. Come enjoy dinner and a spooky Halloween show!

Thursday, October 6, meeting schedule:
6-7pm: Aerospace Education for Cadets- we are building rockets and will have a quick presentation from Russ Rudin about the upcoming rocket launch day we will be participating in. Senior members are invited to join us. See attached flier.
7-7:30pm: Safety Briefing for Cadets and Senior members
7:30-8:30pm: Cadets continue with rockets, drill, etc
7:30-8pm: Administrative Meeting for Senior members

Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 5, 18:00. 2d Lt Nicholas Irvine from the Butte County composite squadron will be giving a presentation on CAP’s sUAS program (small unmanned aerial systems, or drones). Come learn about this exciting program that cadets and seniors can get involved with.
