Im so excited to announce there are going to be some heartfelt changes that will be happening on this page. I cannot wait to share my heart with you in such a vulnerable way that most have never seen before. Authentic V U L N E R A B I L I T Y has never been my strong suit... but the more I practice the more natural it feels.

I've been asked a lot of questions lately as I make these transitions, so I thought why not answer them here:

Will you still be working behind the chair?
ABSOLUTELY... As a creator I cannot help but to create. You will see some creations that are similar to what you've seen before and you will see some new stuff that is going to make a HUGE impact in the industry.

What about the salon? What are the future plans for that?
is in the beginning phases of growth so why stop it. I'm a huge believer in not trying to stop something in motion. So I'm very excited to see where she flows to in the next few years. Think... EXPANSION.

What about education?
This question has been the hardest for me to wrestle with... and i will speak more on it later... but yes, you can always expect education from Me it will just look a little more intimate. I am offering 1:1 Shadowing for any stylists who want to freshen up their skills, fine tune, or just learn new techniques. If you would like to bring in educators and need a space please reach out I would love to host education. I can accommodate small classes less than 14 in my space and have off site accommodations for larger classrooms.

💐Working weddings is such a sweet little space in this industry... kinda like the day you find your perfect dress and discover it has pockets.

Here are a few key things that have helped me better prepare for my Brides most important day

𝔽𝕀ℝ𝕊𝕋, the consultation is the most important part of the brides experience.
➡️This is where you discuss:
- Look
- Will they need Extensions to complete the Look they want.
- Specific likes and dislikes
- Expectations- if they are realistic or not
- Strand curl or smooth the hair to see how the hydrogen bonds reform (this let's you know how well the hair holds curl and resists humidity)
***I prefer my Brides to come in with clean hair in its natural state- this is also true for all wavy, curly and coily hair clients
- Bridal trial
- Pricing- I usually build out my quote or estimate at this appointment.
- Day of Expectations
- Answer any questions they may have

When I am working with larger bridal party I ALWAYS bring a second stylist to help prep the hair for me. I usually pay them an hourly rate or I pay them for each client they prep plus mileage.

𝕋ℍ𝕀ℝ𝔻 + 𝘔𝘖𝘚𝘛 𝘐𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘙𝘛𝘈𝘕𝘛, make sure your bridal bag has the following items in ADDITION to your normal gear, 😘 you'll thank me later:
- Double sided clothing tape (someone will need it)
- Safety Pins + Sewing kit
- Lash Glue (clear)
- Tweezers
- Hair Donuts (Blonde + Brown + Black)
- Sticky Hair Diamonds
- Bluetooth speaker + Wedding Day Playlist
- Chargers for IPhone and Samsung or Battery Pack
- Selfie Stick (for content purposes)
- Colored Scalp Spray in dark brown/black, brown, and Blonde for your Thinner clients
- Gum/Mints/toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Small tissue packs
- Small pop up table (I found a great camping one on Amazon)
- 10ft + 6ft Extension cords
- First Aid kit

Stylists who spend years investing in their career deserve a raise too.

The difference between being an independent Stylist and working for a company is...
The company pays you to perform the way they want you to- dont get me wrong its incredible if you have a company that pays for education.
But as an indy stylist we have to seek out the education. We have to pay for travel and hotel, we have to pay for the classes. We have to buy the new products.

So you see we Deserve a raise too!

I meet so many stylists who truly believe they cannot raise their prices because they "live in a small town"- most Educators i know are from small towns. "ill loose my clientele"- there is always more, "no one I know will pay that much"- yes they will... and they do.

80% of making it in this industry is all about your mindset. I understand the F E A R that keeps you in burnout mode. The same F E A R that has made you rethink your career options. Its the same F E A R that youve allowed to talk yourself out of big career moves you know your capable of.

Honestly your better than that.

I dont care how long it takes... the most important part of your Extension Install is the Base/Foundation. Your clients have to wear this for 4-8 weeks so please take your time.
I remember when i first started doing hair peiple were shocked at how long it took me to do certain projects and i sometimes felt like i needed to rush because i quoted them incorrectly. As a new business owner I was terrified to lose Business.
But what i have found is that perfect practice takes time and patience.

Im so greatful to each of my clients who have been with me long enough to see how much quicker i am🥰

Ummm sooo these curls just completely rocked my world!

This sweet client came in and we started with Malibucpro CPR to remove buildup and get the hair as clean as possible.
I lifted her virgin Level 2 Hair to a Level 4/5 chocolate 6-0 pulp riot w/ Actuator by Trionics Haircare all over with Guy Tang Midnight rose and Actuator and Joico Cream Lightener with Accent for the Caramel Highlights. Trionicshaircare and olaplex were used in Every step.

YEP THATS RIGHT... PERMS NEVER LEFT...

Infact if they are done right most wouldnt know its a perm vs natural curl!

So when i frist got into hair i was like im never doing perms- they were for old ppl 🤣🤣🤣 ... i never understood why they had us wrap so many in school. I just never got it... but i do now- the trend has never left... and i think its here to stay

Up until a few years ago i had only done 5 perms... people asked for them all the time... and i knew it would give clients the body/volume/lift that they were looking for... but i chose to limit my skills as a stylist because i was afraid. I was afraid of melting the hair. I was afraid of the hair becoming gummy... i didnt understand how i would be able to retouch the perm after i did the initial one with out damage. PLUSSSSS most of the ppl wanting perms had bleach! Sodium Hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide just dont mix.

Until...

bi*ch slapped me with Thio-free, bleach safe enzyme perming solutions!!! Thats when it all shifted for me. Ive been an advocate with Trionics for years and finally decided to give perms a go! So greatful i did... not only does it expand my services--- which is key to business retention... but it also allows me to deliver the body, wave, and bounce that fine/stick straight haired clients are looking for. Oh and i can safely Perm Lightened hair... yep the GOLD perm is safe on Bleach!!!!

I know of too many stylists that try to cut costs for their clients or themselves and purchase "quality hair" off Amazon ... ive done it one time for an updo for a wedding... which was fine. But if she wanted to wear that hair for 6months that would not have been possible. The hair is crap

Where you purchase your hair matters...

There are so many factors that play into it as well...

Do your Extensions matte?

Do you know what Grade of hair they are?

Do you know where they come from?

Have they been bleached?

How long are they expected to last?
