The primary responsibility of an Entry Level Granite & Quartz Fabricator and Installer is to progressively learn how to perform fabrication and installation of granite and quartz.

We are searching for a capable entry level Granite & Quartz Fabricator and Installer to join our company long term. The Entry Level position will be required to brainstorm and implement effective solutions in consultation with our clients. You should also ensure adherence to our protocols while observing standard safety guidelines and regulations of the CSLB.

To be successful as an Entry Level fabricator and installer you should possess the ability to deliver high-quality work within short but reasonable turnaround times.

Entry Level Responsibilities:
-Demolition of previously installed countertops and other surfaces.
-Clearing the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions.
-Preparing slabs as advised by CSLB and stone manufacturers and distributors.
-Abide by company policies set forth in company documents.
-Clean and organize work space.

REPORTS TO:
-Shop Foreman
-Company Ownership Team

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

-MUST BE ABLE TO READ TAPE MEASURE
-High School Diploma or Equivalence.
-Valid driver's license is preferable.
-Good arithmetic skills.
-Capable of independent and group work.
-Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and troubleshooting abilities.
-Thorough and efficient.
-Physically fit and able to lift large, heavy equipment and materials.
-Ability to work professionally and follow instructions with a demonstrated capability to work in a team environment

SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of an Apprentice Tile Installer is to progressively learn how to perform installations on walls and floors to reach a journeyman level. Working from an entry level position to a journeyman level requires that one gains the knowledge and skill sets to prepare / install all types of tile and stone according CSLB regulations and standards.

POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Responsible to mix mortars and learn the techniques to prepare wall substrates using floated technique.

-Responsible to mix mortars and learn float and slope shower pan.

-Gain the knowledge to perform layouts and how they should be be centered or designated on predominate walls.

-Responsible to learn how to prepare tile flooring substrates
-Responsible to gain the skillsets necessary to become a journeyman installer.

-Responsible for self inspecting all work upon completion to ensure all quality expectations have been met.

-Responsible for building and maintaining interpersonal relationships with coworkers and clients

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Ability to learn how to properly prepare wall and flooring substrates to meet all industry specifications in which tiles are to be installed.

-Ability to read and understand work orders, blue prints, tape measure, and correlate with diagrams showing designs using varying types of tile and stone. All work instructions are to be verified to match provided diagrams, and any discrepancies are to be resolved before installation begins.

-Ability to learn how to properly layout field tiles, trims, accents, and patterns to fit the areas to be tiled while achieving the intended design.

-Ability to learn how to install tile and stone flat, level, and true to a plane with minimal lippage as set forth by the CSLB.

-Achieve a complete product knowledge and understanding of the appropriate use with different types of mortars, grouts, and any other tile setting material.

-Must be able to work in and adjust to varying job site conditions typical in remodel, new home, and commercial construction.

-Ability to do mathematical calculations to estimate quantities, provide takeoffs when needed, and the ability to determine time, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity to a timely completion.

-Ability to communicate effectively and in an appropriate manner in writing and verbally.

-Ability to receive and follow instructions provided by assigned Journeyman Tile Installer and Ownership team.

-Ability to make tile cuts on saw.

-Ability to commute to and from job site with reliable transportation. Preferably a truck.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

-Previous experience preferred but not required.

-Ability to work professionally and follow instructions with a demonstrated capability to work in a team environment

This glue down LVP was the perfect product for the new location of Platinum Salon! The owners did an excellent job with the decor and functionality of the facility. 😍
