AMR- Shasta County
Providing care to the world at a moment's notice.
AMR-Shasta crews are at the Shasta County Fair for medical standby! Make sure to stop by and say hi to the crews, and learn some hands-only-CPR!
As always, make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks when needed. It’s going to be a warm weekend!
‼️Meet Our Crews‼️
This is Jay Nickell, AMR-Shasta's Operation Manager.
Jay has been in EMS since 1995, starting as an EMT in Oakland, CA. Since then, Jay has worked his way to Paramedic before moving to the Redding area. Jay then worked as an Operation's Supervisor at AMR-Shasta since 2001, up until his recent promotion to Operations Manager in early 2024.
He is a crowd favorite around the operation, and you can sometimes catch him making custom pizzas for the staff!
Memorial Day is a momentous holiday where we get the privilege of honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend this great nation.
We would all like to express our gratitude to all those who have served or who actively serve in the military.
Your willingness to serve, is what makes this country so great.
AMR-Shasta would also like to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly, and safely. Remember to always designate a sober driver.
As EMS weeks comes to a close, we would like to express immense gratitude to all the amazing first responders that have chosen the career path in EMS.
It takes a village to accomplish all that we set out to do, and it’s all possible because of every single first responder that steps up to the job.
We hope that this week was full of remembrance of just how important this job is; and just how much the public appreciates you all.
The AMR-Shasta team had a great day of talking with the future paramedics from the 2024 paramedic class at College of the Siskiyous.
We were able to talk with several students about the benefits of joining a company that truly cares for their employees; as well as the community it serves.
We wish them luck as they enter their hospital and field internships. We look forward to working with them in the future!
Thank you, to our incredible dispatchers at Shascom911!
🚑 Happy National Emergency Medical Services Week! 🚑
We want to say thank you to all of our courageous EMS providers who deliver urgent life-saving care in times of need! We recognize your contributions and want to say thank you for playing such an important role in ensuring safe and effective healthcare prior to hospital arrival!
On behalf of SHASCOM, we appreciate you!
‼️Did you know‼️
AMR proudly offers Emergency Vehicle Operating Course (EVOC) training to all new hires. It consists of a full day in the classroom, learning all about vehicle dynamics and operations.
Followed by a full day on the driving course, where you get to practice emergency vehicle operations with our experienced training officers.
This is just one of the many training opportunities that the AMR team can provide to you!
It’s always a great day when we get to hang out with our sister company, Reach, and get to show future EMTs what their future in EMS holds!
Thank you, Shasta College-Tehema, for allowing us to be apart of your program!
AMR-Shasta was pleased to attend Sequoia Middle School’s 150th Celebration of Educational Excellence. AMR personnel were able to engage with the public, and teach hundreds of people how to provide hands-only CPR. Hands-only CPR has been shown to exponentially improve patient outcomes in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, so it is an important skill to learn!
A big thanks to our partners from REACH Air Medical Services for participating in the fun!
On 4/20/24, AMR-Shasta was invited to the Shasta College EMT program to share AMR’s hiring process with the class. Students had the chance to go through the different kinds of ambulances/SUVs from our fleet, and explore our equipment. They also got the chance to speak with multiple crew members of different rolls, and ask them questions about the company/profession. We hope to see them in the field soon!
On 4/20/24, AMR-Shasta had the privilege of attending the annual Northstate Prehospital Conference with many other healthcare providers in the area. We were able to learn from several informative presenters, as well as share information regarding AMR and our core values.
Welcome to the official AMR-Shasta County page! We are located in the beautiful California Northstate, and are proud to be serving the people of Shasta County. We look forward to sharing a glimpse of our operation with you!
