Today is All Saints Day. Who do you remember today? We invite you to share names and pictures of those beloved saints who have gone before us to eternal life, where suffering and death are no more.

We give thanks for all the saints who have influenced our lives, faith and vocational decisions. We pray for all grieving the loss of someone significant in their lives, that they will be comforted by God and know that they are not alone in their grief.

One bread, one body, one Lord of all; one cup of blessing which we bless, and we, though many throughout the earth, we are one body in this one Lord. (ELW 496)

As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body.
~Colossians 3:12-15

Monday in Holy Week Reflection 04/06/2020

This is a series of reflections for Holy Week which I will share everyday. They come from Hereford Cathedral in England. They are partners with the Lutheran Diocese in Nuremburg, Germany. I like todays reading because it says that today Jesus was with friends, in a home, feeling safe. The prayer is for our friends and their homes. I thank Nancy for finding this link.

Dear Members and Friends of Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
Church Council met last Sunday to discuss the impact of the the Corona Virus on our worship gatherings. As I am sure you know, gatherings of any kind are being discouraged to avoid the spread of the virus, and those with compromised health and people over the age of 60 are specifically to avoid these type of meetings. With this in mind, we voted to postpone worship till we can come together with joy on Easter Sunday April 12. That being said and the realities of this virus, Council will meet on Wednesday night April 8 to discuss whether even Easter needs to be postponed. We will keep you informed by email, and phone calls to those not connected.
To maintain our worship life, emails will be sent with the lessons and Gospel, prayers of the day and a link to our music of the day.
I will add, while worship will happen at home, bills still come in to the church. If you would be so kind and mail your offerings to the church so we can maintain our budget and pay our bills it will be greatly appreciated. You can mail them to: Bethlehem Lutheran Church, PO Box 94, Georgetown CT 06829. Thank you so much for your attention to this.
If you have any questions or ideas you would like to add, please comment below.
Thank you everybody, I will end with this verse from Mark 15:13. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
This is just a blip in our history that we shall overcome with God's help.
Go in peace and health! Serve the Lord!
