Living With Gratitude
As we enter into the holiday season, common stressors can become unbearable. During these times many of us are left feeling like there’s not a community we can lean on to talk to about mental health issues prevalent during this time of year. Fortunately, the CCS Military Families Program has developed a weekly virtual group focused on empowering you to use tools to prevent the development of mental illness. We are here for you.
Wednesday November 3, 2021 at 6pm we will kick off this group with the American Redcross for a workshop on Emotional Grit and Emotional Resiliency.
All participants must be located in the State of California. Please sign-up by scanning the QR code on the flyer attached or using this website https://www.signupgenius.com/go/

As news coverage continues on our withdrawal from Afghanistan, many of our service personnel and veterans may experience what is know as 'moral injuries' as they contemplate their time in service. While moral injury is normal it is important to know that it is not something clearly seen. Our service personnel and veterans may feel shocked, hurt, disappointed, and even confused. These injuries should not be ignored. Counselors in our Military Families program are here to help. Call us at 909-793-1078.

Living a healthy lifestyle and incorporating mental health tools to thrive may not be easy but can be achieved by gradually making small changes and building on those successes.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had profound impacts on the mental health of people of all ages, and now more than ever it is critical to reduce the stigma around mental health struggles that commonly prevents individuals from seeking help.
While 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. You are not alone if you are feeling anxious, depressed, or stressed. There are things you can do yourself to get back on track. And there are people available to assist you if you can’t do in on your own. Seeking professional help when self-help efforts to improve your mental health aren’t working are a sign of strength, not weakness.
Mental health is essential to everyone’s health and well-being, and mental illnesses are common and treatable. One way to check in with yourself is to take a mental health screen at https://screening.mhanational.org/screening-tools/. It is a quick, free, and private way for someone to assess their mental health and recognize signs of mental health problems.
