Little Engineers at Work!!!! What an amazing day !!!!!

Our kiddos took on the STEAM challenge at Mango, building their own suspension bridges ! With tiny hands and big imaginations, they crafted some incredible creations. It’s amazing what they can achieve with teamwork and creativity !!!!!

This week at our summer camp, themed around transportation, we’re exploring the amazing world of bridges! We’re discovering how bridges work, learning about different types, and studying their various parts.

Today, our young engineers created truss bridges using construction paper and tape, experimenting with square and triangle shapes. They tested to see which bridge could hold the most books and cars, making predictions about which shape would be stronger and why.

This hands-on project beautifully integrates the Montessori and STEAM approaches, sparking creativity and critical thinking in our campers. Here’s a peek into our exciting engineering adventure!

At Mango, our guide uses a cardboard maze during circle time to demonstrate how food moves through our bodies, making learning about the digestive system enjoyable for children. Understanding the digestive tract and food breakdown helps children make healthier choices and grasp their own bodies better!!!!!

Mango children practicing Warrior Pose! Warrior Pose fires up the core, engaging the abdominals while strengthening and stabilizing the ankles, legs and hips. Practicing this pose not only improves balance but also increases mental focus, concentration and will-power in children!!!

“The Short Bead Chain activity provides children with a concrete and visual way to practice skip counting, helping to develop the child’s mathematical mind. Additionally, it indirectly prepares them for multiplication tables, while also imparting knowledge on calculating the square of a number in a concrete manner !!!!

Tulips of Mango!!! Embrace the essence of Seattle’s Tulip season with Mango’s blooming masterpiece! Our homage to this iconic flower brings together the beauty of nature and the artistry of craft!!!

Art connections Throughout the Mango Classroom - Having an “art” area in the classroom, we prepare children for both writing and expressive drawing by providing materials they can freely choose throughout the entire classroom. Mango children are encouraged to explore making different shapes using the Metal Insets!!!! It’s so pleasing to see our Mango children’s Art works !!!!

In our Botany unit, Mango children are exploring seeds and their parts. They were pleasantly surprised to learn that many of the seeds we encounter in daily life are edible.
