And then there is Kailey…

Kailey recently started here at Trader Jack's as Food Runner and a Hostess. She is 16 years old.

In her 2nd week on the job, third time ever running food… she delivered food to a table and happened to notice a middle age couple sitting nearby. She noticed the woman was visibly upset.

She approached the table and informed the woman that she noticed she was upset and asked if she was alright. The woman informed her that she was upset because her elderly mother had passed away the day before. Kailey consoled the woman and then proceeded to take it upon herself to locate their server in order to pay for their meal.

This is beyond thoughtful for a 16 year old (or, quite frankly, any age) especially being brand new on the job. When I found out about this a week or so later, I spoke with the guest who was absolutely touched by this kind gesture. I also spoke with Kailey who really didn’t want any recognition. She said “it just made her feel good”. Since then, the two of them have seemingly formed a special bond and look forward to seeing each other when both are here.

We are so proud of Kailey and her incredible thoughtfulness, kindness, maturity and generosity. We have a lot of incredible employees here at Trader Jacks and I’m sure I speak on behalf of all of them when I say “Thank You Kailey – you are an inspiration to all of us”. 😊
