This past weekend, Gourmet was happy to sponsor an amazing cause, Ocean Fever, for a special Memorial Day event! Ocean Fever is an all volunteer, non-profit organization created to help the youth become more comfortable in the ocean. It works to bring our community here in the South Bay together and offers awareness for ocean safety. We can’t wait until their next event!

Happy Meet a Farmer Friday! Meet Phil Clouse, the great man producing all our delicious asparagus in Washington. When asked on his growing philosophy, Phil says to “Set your goals high! Seek input from as many experts as possible in developing the best plan possible, then work the plan!” We are looking forward to the upcoming Washington harvest season, and all that Phil has in store! Thanks for being the best in the West Phil!

February is American Heart Health month, and we are more than happy to help raise awareness and support for the fight against heart disease. Now more than ever, we need to keep our bodies strong and promote a healthy lifestyle. We feel very proud to be producing fresh blueberries that are not only delicious, but extremely good for you. Consuming 150g of blueberries daily reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by up to 15%, a real superfood!😊

During this difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are adjusting our business in many ways, all of which are ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers, growers, and staff. We are so thankful for everyone involved with our company that has continued to work tirelessly during this time of uncertainty to continue providing fresh produce to the public in need. Although much is changing, our main commitment of providing fresh, nutritious Asparagus and Blueberries remains the same. Gourmet Blueberry California had a blast giving back to the community this month! We spent our Saturday at the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter planting flowers, trees & spreading mulch. Then, this past Tuesday at the “Farm Day in the City” teaching 1st-3rd graders about the commodities we grow in Kern County.

We had a great time in Tampa, Florida this past weekend attending Southern Exposure! As always, this show did not disappoint🌱
