Here’s a few fridge and freezer hacks to save you energy:
🧊 In the freezer, fill space with anything, even ice. Less room for hot air means less work for the freezer to stay cold.
🧽 See dust on the condenser coils? Wipe it away.
🔧 If the freezer door won’t stay shut, replace the flexible seal.

Did you know clean solar panels produce more energy than dirty panels? A buildup of dirt will significantly decrease energy production. For example, the dirt buildup shown here reduced the efficiency of these solar panels by 5.5%. How quickly dirt builds up depends on the location of your panels, their proximity to sources of dirt (for example, nearby construction can contribute to additional dust), and other factors.
Did you know that many plugged-in devices keep drawing power even when they’re not in use? You could easily spend a couple hundred dollars per year for these phantom loads. 👻
Waste less energy by unplugging chargers and switching off power strips. Smart strips can even automate the process, turning off power when devices aren’t in use.
