While hypothermia is much more common during MRI as a result of the general anesthesia, AnimalScan Advanced Veterinary Imaging has been receiving increased requests for information on patient

Registered Veterinary Technician (preferred to be experienced in anesthesia) AnimalScan is an MRI center for companion animals providing advanced veterinary imaging in Redwood City, CA. We are looking a part time and/or locum licensed RVT for this location as part of our team. This position requires working as part of the team during the peri-anesthetic period, including restraint, IV catheter placement and assisting with induction, monitoring and recovery from anesthesia. The technical ability including, but not limited to, IV catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring and understanding of monitoring parameters and calculation of drug doses. Math & computer skills including Excel and Word. The ability to work with and learn electronic medical records, radiology information systems and other skills related to the position. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work as part of a team. We are excited to welcome Dr. Hilary Shipley to the team here at AnimalScan Advanced Veterinary Imaging in Redwood City, CA! Dr. Shipley will take over as Medical Director and Anesthesiologist.

Dr. Hilary Shipley obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from UC San Diego in 2009, and her veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2014. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, DC in 2015, then returned to the Midwest for a residency in comparative anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota. She received her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia in 2018. Prior to joining Animal Scan, she worked as an anesthesiologist at Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI.

Dr. Shipley is a California native, born and raised in the East Bay, and is excited to return to the West coast. In her free time, Dr. Shipley enjoys hiking and backpacking, and also dabbles in photography and painting. She shares her home with a very gregarious orange tabby named Pedrocchi.
