❤️ The American Heart Association - Nevada has joined the Washoe County Library to bring Libraries with Heart, a community-based blood pressure cuff loaner program designed to make it easier for people to keep track of their blood pressure.
Blood pressure kits can be checked out with a library card from nine participating Washoe County Library locations. Each kit contains a blood pressure cuff, instructions on how to properly take blood pressure readings, a blood pressure log to record measurements, and handouts about managing blood pressure. Universal size and XL units are available.

Across the nation, WIC agencies are continuously innovating to better serve families in need. Community Health Alliance’s WIC team is leading the way with initiatives like bedside enrollment in Renown Health's postpartum unit and partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern Nevada to provide services in the Reno/Sparks communities through the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
After the conference, Salma said, “WIC truly is a giant family; it’s inspiring to see how our work helps families every day.”

Our Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) team hosts virtual breastfeeding support group meetings every third Monday of the month. The next session is on Monday, June 17.
Participants must be a Community Health Alliance WIC client and be part of the Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program. Please call (775) 870-4343 for more information.

Malina has worked in health care since 2005, starting as a certified nursing assistant and working her way to an advanced nurse practitioner in cardiology. Every lived experience she has had in this field of work has molded her into who she is now, an empathetic and understanding provider.
What she has come to find over the years in the medical field is the reward of taking care of individuals who come from an underserved population, especially Spanish-speaking patients. She hopes to continue to grow as a provider within this community that she truly cares for while helping prevent illness and maintain healthy and happy individuals.

This dental clinic is open to all adults, including LIBERTY Dental Plan members, uninsured, and refugees. Alexis has been practicing emergency, urgent, and family medicine since graduating from Pacific University in 2012. She is a bilingual Spanish-speaking provider with experience in community health and international experience in tropical medicine. Her special interests include wilderness medicine and infectious disease. She is also licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and volunteers with local search and rescue and state medical assistance teams.
