First attempt at rendering tallow from suet; great success! 🐮🐄

I have been buying local, grass fed beef at the farmer's market in Truckee and I was able to get suet from them this past week.

This first harvest of rendering tallow yielded nine jars of tallow for cooking and 16 jars of whipped tallow for skincare.

If anyone is interested in buying whipped tallow, let me know! $15 for a four ounce jar.

These are simple, just straight up tallow, nothing else! Tallow is full of natural fats, minerals, and vitamins; very nourishing on the skin.

*I'd prefer not to ship these as I don't want them to melt during shipment, so my apologies for that!

We had a successful first harvest of elderberries and elderflowers the other evening, just in time as my son got the sniffles.

My son and I made our first batch of elderberry syrup this morning. It came out superb!

We like the taste of elderberry syrup made with local, wild berries better than elderberry syrup made with berries sourced elsewhere (which it still tastes great, but the fresh, local berries are top notch!).

I'm drying out the elderflowers so I can make some elderflower salves and lip balms. 😊

We are going to harvest more berries in the coming weeks, if we have extra to share (as I like to keep a personal supply for my little fam) I will definitley sell small batches.

I do have two small jars available right now. They are four ounce jars and are $10 each. 💜

The Coconut Oil & Aloe Vera soaps from scratch are cured. 🧼

Also, made some melt and pour Goat Milk soaps. 🐐

Slowly stocking up on goods for some events to vend at this Fall and Winter. 😊

I finally got to making some CBD Pain Support Salves. I just love the process of making these. ☺️

The ingredients used in these powerhouse salves are: 500 mg Raw CBD Isolate, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Local/Raw Beeswax (Graeagle, CA), and Organic Essential Oils of; Copaiba, Frankincense, Lavender, and Peppermint.

I had the honour of making gift bundles for the wonderful teachers and gifts for the teacher helpers at my son's homeschool co-op at Calvary Chapel. This was a joy to spend time on this past week. 🩷

Haven't made melt and pour soaps in a long time! I really enjoy making soaps from scratch, but I have a bigger order to fulfill where time is of essence. The base is from a reputable, small family owned business. I made two soap loafs of organic goatmilk and oats soaps. They came out so lovely! 🐐🩷

Only three ingredients used to make this batch! Raw Coconut Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, and good ole Lye.This is has curing for two months.

Coconut Oil makes for super sudsy soap! This soap is a favorite amongst my husband's coworkers. 🧼

With warmer weather on the radar this week, I think I'll make some more olive oil soaps. ☺️

I haven't been on here much. Sorry if I haven't gotten back with anyone that has sent a message the past few months. Please resend me a message if you still need assistance, happy to help now!

My life has changed SO much the past few years, and I've realized this business endeavor has been put aside. It's time to spend time with this again, but with a new perspective and roots...

This business started around eight years ago. I was a completely different person back then, well up to around 2021. This business was completely rooted in "new age" practices. Well, in 2021, God has guided me to Him. I bought a bible, started reading it, and was soaking it all in. All of my anxiety and stresses diminished. I no longer felt the need to chase more new age-y spiritual highs (and lows). I no longer seek anything in this temporary life, other than God. I continue to nourish my soul with His words and truths everyday.

With saying that, I have put this business on the back burner. How do I proceed with this as the woman behind this has gone from one extreme to the other?

This page will be going under a rebrand phase, may or may not entail a new name, not set in stone yet. I hope to get things a'going within this month as Fall time is the best season to be in the kitchen to make herbal goods!

This was kind of hard to think about and to post; but I felt this was needed as I know much of the following of this page may stem from my previous practices that I no longer condone at all and I'm ready to start this endeavor anew. I know some "followers" may stray away, and that's okay!

The fruit of my hands and labor are all rooted in the good Lord (and Him only) and come from His many creations.

I finally got to making some more Trauma salves. The smell is so herbaceous. 😍

These salves are made with the powerhouse healing herbs for minor aches, bruises, burns, cuts, pains, and wounds. Such a natural staple for First Aid purposes, especially with kiddos! 🌿

The Arnica, Calendula, and St. John's Wort (all organic) were infused with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Local, raw Beeswax was added and the final touches were adding some organic Lavender essential oil and 125 mg's of raw CBD isolate into each glass jar. They came out perfect! 🤌🏾

Hey y'all! This may be a longer post, so feel free or not free to read all.

I have worked my butt off to get what started as a "hobby" to be where it's at today. This year will mark eight years of Native Roots Apothecary coming into fruition. This business was my baby for a while.

Once the Corona Virus hit, my sales dipped and my life has shifted onto the the most important factor of this physical realm; my little family.

The business has been put onto the back burner since COVID. I have also taken on other hobbies and have found myself spending less and less time keeping up with this business endeavor, which it definitely deserves way more time and effort than I can offer. As this started as a hobby...it may also be ending as a hobby.

I am still deciding if I will still have retail space at the shop that has been with me the majority time of embarking on this journey and being once very successful, but time will tell as my family obligations are more important. Inflation also hasn't been helping much either with these decisions, unfortunately.

All in all, please still feel free to keep my contact information and don't hesitate to reach out if you need any assistance or help. I still plan on making herbal medicinals here and there in small batches and will continue to post what I have available for sale. Shipping will be preferred from here on out, or you can meet me at my home if you're a local.

First time making vanilla extract! Has anyone made any before? I'm excited to see how it turns out two months from now. I plan on making baked goods with the extract with my son around Christmas time and a small batch of Aromatherapy sprays. 🍪🥮

Any Lavender lovers out there? I was gifted a Lavender harvest from a local friend and made a line of Lavender goodies! Lavender soaps, Lavender oils, and Lavender Salves! I also made Wild Harvested Floral Oils and Salves that have Elderflower, Lavender, and Rose. These all came out just beautifully. 💜
