But once they were gone, the trips stopped, and Tahoe faded into the realm of childhood nostalgia. While the details got soft around the edges, I never forgot the vivid blue. Or at least that’s what I thought. Then 6 years ago I went back to with and all the colors, and smells, and feelings came rushing back. I had found my happiest of happy places - without realizing l’d lost it.

And it was brighter than ever.”
