Each month the NDA spotlights a volunteer for exemplary service through the presentation of the "Emerald of Excellence Award”. Congratulations to Taylor Schultz for being the recipient of this award for August. Thank you for your dedication to the NDA!

Did you know that one of the Nevada Diabetes Association's camp counselors has a black belt in MMA? Taylor Schultz received her black belt in MMA at the age of thirteen! She first became involved with the Nevada Diabetes Association when she was eight years old and attended Camp Buck. Taylor continued as a camper then went on to be a CIT (Counselor in Training) and is now a counselor and volunteer. Her favorite part about being involved is having the opportunity to see young campers have fun and make lifelong friends as she has done throughout the years. Her favorite camp memories come from being sleep deprived and doing 2:00 AM blood sugar checks while laughing with the best co-counselor, McKenna! Thank you, Taylor.
