Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Rensselaer County, here since 1953, serves 800 members annually.
We offer a variety of programs and services including a summer camp, after school program and latch key program.
We had our final day of Camp Adventure last week. Thank you to our staff and community partners for making it the best year yet!

Boys & Girls Clubs of SORENSCO is saddened to share the passing of Mr. Jim Finke. As a charter member of our organization, Jim was a true βClub Kidβ. From leading our Board of Directors as Chairman and eventually into our Hall of Fame, Jim never forgot about our Club and his community.
We offer our sincere condolences to his family during this most difficult time. π

Club Shout Out! π We had new changing stations built in our Camp Adventure locker rooms along with a tetherball pole. A big thank you to volunteers Mark Hennessy, David Mooney, John Shumaker, and Dave Phillips for this project. Great summers start here in Rensselaer!

Over the course of the past ten months, Boys & Girls Clubs have received $16,822.20 in donations from the Rensselaer Eagles NY 4446 and their accompanying Eagles organizations throughout the state. We thank outgoing Grand Madam President Ginny Cleary and her husband John for their fundraising efforts to benefit The CLUB. At their request, these funds be directed to Camp Adventure, and will be used to cover special events throughout the eight-week program. These events will include a rock climbing wall, pony rides, bouncy house & slip-and-slide, reptile adventure, gardening program, magic shows, obstacle course, STEM projects, and weekly cookouts with 'celebrity' guest cooks!

NOW HIRING: Day Camp Counselor at Camp Adventure
Camp Adventure is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Day Camp Counselors. This position is ideal for those who love working with children, have a passion for the outdoors, and are committed to creating a positive and enriching camp experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision to campers to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Enforce camp rules and guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Assist with daily activities, including swimming, arts and crafts, sports and games and other recreational activities.
- Encourage camper participation and foster a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
- Build positive relationships with campers and act as a role model.
- Address camper needs and concerns with patience and understanding.
- Communicate regularly with camp staff and directors about camper progress and any issues that may arise.
- Assist with set-up and clean-up of camp facilities and equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing situations.
- Positive attitude, high energy, and a passion for working with children.
- Lifeguard certification. Or ability to obtain.
- Experience leading outdoor activities and team-building exercises.
