Griddle And Grain Bakehouse
Enriching our local communities through the comforting power of fresh artisinal bakes.
Part 2; Bake Day β7.
Exciting news. As production becomes more streamlined, we can begin adding more products to our repertoire*. I also have to say a HUGE thank you all for sticking by us while we were figuring it out!! Without everyone's support, there would be no Griddle and Grain. We still have a long way to go, but it's all coming together.
Happy to say that Challah loaves are now part of our biweekly line upππ₯ along with the very popular Original English Muffins that sell out within days.
*Available every Wednesday.
It's also worth noting that our Challah is
Challah will be available every other week starting this week on Wednesdays. Next Challah drop: 7/10

Challah in the making ππ₯
My sourdough starters have arrived! Both are fed and hanging out...getting happy.
Here's a brief, super condensed history lesson on these fabulous sourdough startersππ½
---
This Italian starter is possibly 1000 Years old. It comes from a small bakery nestled within the Tuscan Apennine mountain range; they received this starter over 100 years ago from the Camaldoli Monastery. This monastery was built circa 1012 A.D. by St. Romauld, a Benedictine monk, who wanted to create a place for solitary religious reflection.
------
Passed down within the family of Carl Griffith, this heirloom starter, the 1847 Oregon Trail starter, was created by Carl Griffith's great-grandmother. She traveled with her sourdough west from Missouri along the Oregon Trail in 1847, settling near Salem, Oregon.
I can't WAIT to start producing some cool stuff once the starter is ready. β€οΈ
I'm going to be in the bakery kitchen this Monday, so I'm going begin taking small orders for those who are interested. Because Monday is a holiday, I'll be shipping the orders on Tuesday. π
I'm also trying out this new app to take these orders. So, I would love some feedback on ease of use, how the purchase process went etc, etc.
I'm still working out the kinks and I appreciate anyone who supports and helps me with the development and streamlining of this process!

New batch Tuesday, 4/23
Dear God ππ½, Can I please do this....every day? This kind of happiness, to me, could be best defined as a sliver of heaven... β¨
How does that saying go? "Find what you love and you'll never work another day in your life."
Yeah....I've never been more sure of THAT.
Because I still don't have the full dexterity that I need, I stuck with these lil beauties for consignment. I hope they sell ππ½
Wish me luck y'all β€οΈ
Up next, croissants π₯π€π½
Sundays are for baking.
That said, these little guys are my newest obsession.
Light, fluffy and I think I'd like to make a slightly different variation next time.
First fold!
