Emma, our Social Media & Store Manager, Senior Pointe Shoe Fitter, and the manager of our Ambassador Program, has been a cornerstone of Dancewear Center since joining our team in 2019. Her journey from Scottish Highland Dance to competitive figure skating, and finally to ballet, has shaped her into the versatile and dedicated artist she is today. Emma's passion for dance and helping others find their perfect pointe shoe is truly inspiring.

In addition to her role at DWC, Emma is a freelance dance artist in the greater Seattle area, Certified American Barre Technique Instructor, Certified Flexistretcher Instructor, and also teaches locally as well. We are so grateful for her dedication, talent, and the joy she brings to our team and customers.

"My name is Bella Fassio, and I am a dancer in Covington. I have been dancing my entire life at Maple Valley School of Ballet, and I am a part-time high school and college student. Some of my favorite roles to dance have been Cupid in Don Quixote and Marzipan in the Nutcracker! I am so excited to announce that I am a Dancewear Center Ambassador for the next four months. I am so happy to get to share my dance journey and show that everyone can be a dancer!"

💭🤔 Get to Know DWC Ambassador Jeanne Robson!- now live on our blog 👩‍💻

Jeanne Robson began her dance journey at the age of 5 and never doubted that a dancer was what she wanted to be. She studied at the Atlanta Ballet School and School of American Ballet. She began my professional career with Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, during the early years of the company. She then took a break from dance, earned a BA in Education and focused on early childhood classrooms for many years - still one of her favorite places to be. Dance came back into her day to day life and she is currently teaching ballet at Fidalgo DanceWorks in Anacortes. Her students have been all ages from preschool through high school and adult. Over the years of her teaching, she began to realize how much knowledge and information she had received at such a young age, and how fortunate she was to have had the experiences that she did. Jeanne began to understand what it means when it is said that it becomes our responsibility to share one's gifts and knowledge and to pass along to others what was given to us. This thread is always present when she is with her students.

I am honored to be a DWC Ambassador and am looking forward to meeting and learning about others in the Seattle area dance community. DWC's vision of inclusivity, education, and the belief that every body is a dancing body is inspiring. I'm excited about this opportunity!

💭🤔 Get to Know DWC Ambassador Abby Jayne DeAngelo!- now live on our blog 👩‍💻

Abby Jayne DeAngelo is a passionate ballet artist with a deep foundation in the art form, having trained under the renowned Marcia Dale Weary at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) in Carlisle, PA. Her love for ballet extends to teaching and guiding the next generation of dancers, emphasizing the beauty of life in their training. Abby Jayne founded Adage Ballet Academy in Seattle, WA, in 2021, and her extensive teaching experience includes guest teaching at CPYB, private coaching, and virtual classes with BalletTogether. She also danced professionally with Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB) from 2016 to 2023 and achieved notable roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker. In June 2023, she transitioned to a freelance career while continuing to share her mission of balanced, joy-filled ballet technique and training with her students. Abby Jayne also achieved a significant milestone by completing ThePointeShop Progressive Pointe Method Basic Training, demonstrating her commitment to enhancing her expertise as she works towards becoming a proficient pointe shoe fitter.

I am excited to be a DWC ambassador to make more connections with the greater dance community in Seattle and the surrounding areas. I love what DWC is doing to promote more inclusion in the dance space and I am honored to be apart of the team for the next couple of months.

Don’t miss out on this upcoming performance put on by the talented Dance Fremont Youth Program dancers! 👯 💃🏻🕺🏻🪩🩰

These dancers will be performing works choreographed by Margaret Behm, Nicole Cardona, Gabrielle Kazuko Nomura Gainor, Margaux Gex, Christina Kennedy, Robbi A. Moore, and Dance Fremont students.

There will be featured guest performances by All That Dance (the Saturday 1pm & Sunday 5pm show), and Bainbridge Dance Center (both Sunday shows!).

This project is supported in part by a grant from 4Culture.

Additionally, as part of the festival, Dance Fremont is offering contemporary master classes open to the public on both days of the shows with two of our choreographers, Margaret Behm and Nikki Cardona! The classes will be geared toward dancers with intermediate-advanced dance experience and include phrasework from the choreographers’ new works for Impact Dance Festival.

Today marks Ethan Rome's anniversary with DWC, and we couldn't be more grateful to have him as our Director of Marketing! 🎉 Ethan is not just a marketing genius, but also a talented dancer, teacher, and choreographer here in Seattle, Washington. 💃✨ From co-directing Trillium Dance Collective to teaching at Glass House Dance and Western Washington University, Ethan's impact on the dance community is immeasurable. 🌟
