Happy !
Life has felt a bit like this waterfall lately - attempting to go with the flow, but hitting several obstacles along the way. I suppose a pinball machine might be a better analogy, but waterfalls are prettier.
Lupine details
It was great to dust off my camera and visit the Middle Fork Snoqualmie area last week. Such a fun area to explore again and again.

“Cursing the Sky”
Even though we’d only get to see about 20% of today’s solar eclipse in western Washington, the clouds made sure to obscure it completely. While I didn’t make any attempts to watch it, I’m sure there are some of you out there cursing the sky (and maybe shaking a fist at the clouds like this little daffodil).
Better luck next time (August 2044)…☀️

One year ago today…🌼
I’ve never been much of a Valentine’s Day fan, but I do love these bleeding heart wildflowers. Looking forward to seeing them return in a couple of months. 💕
The mountains were out today 🏔️
Sharing one of my favorite winter scenes on this (captured nearly 5 years ago during a February snowfall).

“Fading”
I missed out on most of the fall colors this year because of work & life circumstances, but managed to catch the tail end of it in the past couple of weeks. You’d think by now I’d know how short this season is and plan my photo outings accordingly, but somehow, year after year, I’m always surprised how quickly it’s over. Better luck next year 🙃
“Fall Forest Flow”
Had a wonderful time exploring the Middle Fork area this past Sunday with Julie Boyd Photography and capturing some long exposure scenes. It’s always a treat to get together with her, especially when we can take our cameras. 😁
Celebrated this little lady’s birthday recently, and got to meet her little sister and capture some fun family photos while we were there. Such a great visit with family!

Friday’s sunrise captured through a hazy hallway window at my new place of work. Because my desk is in a central space and I don’t have any windows near me, I appreciate this view so much more.
Now that we’re back on standard time and I’m working in the office 5 days/week, I will savor every bit of daylight I get to see, even if it’s only on weekends.

I love taking fall portraits, especially when they’re with my favorite nephew 🍁
We had been keeping a close eye on the forecast leading up to C&C’s wedding day, watching the outlook go from sunny and upper 70’s, to partly cloudy, and eventually to a chance of rain just days before the event. That morning, the forecast called for mostly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of rain after 5pm - definitely something we could work around since the outdoor ceremony would be over by then.
As the day progressed, so too did the amount of rain. In the end, the couple and planning team with Your Perfect Bridesmaid decided to move the ceremony indoors. This turned out to be the right decision because the downpour and wind that followed was quite a bit more than the “30% chance of rain” we expected.
While the ceremony and group photos may not have turned out as we had planned, everyone involved was so patient and flexible in weathering the storm (literally). As guests enjoyed dinner and conversation inside, the clouds began to glow off in the distance and so I took the opportunity to steal the couple away for some sunset portraits. The light rain continued as we captured a few quick shots in front of the colorful sky while a few elk grazed in the nearby field. It was another unexpected twist to the day, but a beautiful one nonetheless - a wonderful ending to a wonderful day. ✨
Just delivered this client’s sneak peek from our senior portrait session Sunday evening. It was wonderful to work with E and his family again (after nearly 5 years!) and get to explore a new state park. All around, an afternoon well spent!
Taking a little break from today’s editing to share a few more from last weekend’s awesome senior portrait session✨ Which one is your favorite?
Excited to start on last night’s wedding edits once this senior gallery is complete!
“Summer Greens at Lake 22”
Last night’s senior portrait session was awesome! 🔥 S brought her amazing style and made every shot look magical ✨
It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I just LOVE how this one turned out. Definitely will have to share more as I edit!

Nature & Lifestyle Photographer
I am a photographer based out of Issaquah, Washington, providing services throughout the Greater Seattle Area. My work focuses on both nature and lifestyle photography, but I try not to limit myself to just these domains.
Regardless of what I’m photographing, my aim is to capture moments in their most authentic form. This is largely why I enjoy photographing natural scenes, where stage-setting and other manipulations are excluded. I extend this approach to my human and animal subjects as well, by largely emphasizing candid captures over posed ones.
Ultimately, I want to ensure that you’re satisfied with the final product, whether that be a single print, a family photoshoot, or a large event. Whatever your photography needs may be, I’d love the opportunity to work with you and help you achieve your vision.
