Rhinelander Historical Society Museum
Rhinelander Historical Society Museum offers guided tours and information about Rhinelander's past.
Inside and Outside of the PPHC Railroad Museum have been beautifully decorated for Christmas! Enjoy the lights and you are sure to learn something new each time you return for a visit.
Its Throwback Thursday, and today we see a photo of the paper mill and the original Logging Museum location, where the Lake States yeast plant is today. Rhinelander's Logging Museum is the oldest of its kind in the country, 91 years old, opened in 1932. It was first situated between the Wisconsin River and the mill on the north side of Davenport Street. It moved to Pioneer Park on the Pelican River in 1955. This photo was taken in the 1940s.
Typically the Logging Museum is only open during the summer months, but you can take a rare opportunity to visit the Logging Museum and see how lumberjacks lived during the cold winter months this Saturday during the final Christmas Open House at the Rhinelander Railroad Museum, as its one of two buildings open this year.
