Hello Table Tennis members and the TriCities community. We apologize for the several weeks our website was down. We had major hosting changes that impacted our static pages. We are up and running. Of course, times and spaces for hitting haven't changed! Hope to see you at the Center sometime!
A TRIBUTE...
When I think of Table Tennis, I remember Harold. Last quarter October 2022, Harold, a prominent and long-time member and leader of TCTTA, passed, but his love for Table Tennis resounds with me. Harold (I often called him Fred accidentally because his last name was Fredrickson--one of my faux pas) was resolute. Even when he could barely see the ball, he struck it effectively with sheer instinct and motor memory. When I first arrived at TCTTA as early as 2002, I think Harold was the one that "let me play him." I thought Tri-Cities would be a piece of cake because I beat everyone in my garage in Seattle. But Harold humbled me on every occasion. He did it kindly and, as I progressed, encouraged me to improve more. Harold loved the consistency and strategy of Table Tennis. He loved hanging out with people.
With much thanks to Harold and his decades upon decades of service, we will continue that tradition at TCTTA. We will strive to welcome you and invite you to play with us even if you're a bit nervous at first or, like me, you think you're the greatest Table Tennis player in the region. We'll humble you with kindness and a smile and one day revel in your expertise as Harold did!
We'll miss you, Harold. Thanks for your chuckles, kind heart, attentive attitude, and service to our community these many decades.
